Kobble is exaggerating and trolling once again, BUT there is a kernel of truth there.
Lillard is at the age where he will start to decline, while simultaneously getting paid obscene amounts of money.
Which why there's NO CHANCE we trade Ben Simmons for him straight up, much less throw in a grab bag of other assets as desperate and thirsty fans on here want.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
There's a good point to be made that smaller point guards tend not to age well. And Dame could fall off a cliff before the end of his deal. You cannot ignore it is a big gamble that you can keep Jo healthy and Dame elite at the same time for a whole playoff run.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
The same dudes clowning the Celtics situation with Kemba falling off the cliff and being owed all that money can't be the same ones advocating for a Dame Lillard trade. Because that's going to be way worse than the Kemba situation in a couple of years and we'll be the laughing stock of the league when it happens.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
I dont mind overpaid players as long as they’re good players.
Like i said before, for us to win we have to overpay because players dont want to go to our team unless they’re getting overpaid. And cap flexibility will just end up with Tolliver or Gary Clark players. Why? The good cheap FAs would just sign with the Lakers or other top tier destinations like Nets. See Drummond and LMA.

Kemba looks like damaged good.
Celts had a promising team with Kemba, Hayward, Tatum and Jaylen.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
I think we need to treat Embiid like a post-prime Duncan. Keep the faucet on in terms of bringing in young creators via the draft.
Don't screw up the franchise for a decade and trade for a munchkin that will be the worst contract in the NBA (besides Rudy) in a couple of years.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
We don't necessarily need a hall of fame scorer at the tail end of his prime to pair with Embiid. That's doing too much.
We just need Parker and Ginoboli caliber players.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
Aren't Dame and Kemba completely different players in terms of ceiling? Has Kemba ever been considered a top ten player?

Re: The Playoffs Thread
No, I wouldn't say so. Dame is more talented and scores more, but he's not in a different galaxy. They're the same archetype of player. Dame is just on the higher end of the spectrum. The cliff don't care where you are on the spectrum of talent. Blake Griffin was considered a top 10 player at one point. How's he look after the cliff came for him?

Re: The Playoffs Thread
Yep i agree. Lillard is significatively better than Kemba ever was but can have a similar fall in a couple of years.Hes an undersized scoring guard.
You can also look at how Iverson declined fast after 32/33 yrs old.
With that being sayed, its not like Embiid has a long window neither. You can trade for Lillard and go all in, trying to maximize the next 2 or 3 years.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
Joel Embiid doesn't have to be in his prime to win a championship in Philly. Like I mentioned, consider him a geriatric Duncan and just keep bringing in young scorers to develop ala Maxey. No reason to double down on an imaginary window and ruin the next decade of Sixers basketball.

The size difference on the court with the Bucks/Nets looks weird out there.
Nets might not get an offensive rebound, lol.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
Yeah, i never got people who were praising the Nets playing defense against the Celtics. That team was just people taking turns to iso.
Now that they face a real team with an offensive system their defense looks as bad as it really is

Man I wish we could switch out Portis for Mike Scott.....a man can dream I guess.
Without Harden, this is a big game for the Bucks, they could take control of this series. With that bad hammy, there is no guarantee Harden can play even in the next game.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
If Harden's hamstring is gonna be fried all playoffs then it's completely wide open. imperative to get Embiid's knee right. We can take any team in the playoffs outside of a fully healthy Nets.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably
