Think that the Celtics and Bucks are in the first tier of championship contenders, with Suns as possible late-entry due to the Durant addition.
Next tier would consist of Sixers, Nuggets and Cavs imo.

That's probably the highest odds of a championship we have had going into the PO during this era. It felt "close" in the Butler year, but those regular season numbers were quite worse than this season (even if we adjust the filters for post Butler trade).

One thing that might make me even underestimate the odds of this year is our crunch time scoring. Our post season defense will be as good as Embiid wants it to be, but in the past we couldn't convert those stops. It is up to James to determine his legacy and show whether he can score efficiently when the going gets though. He's certainly in a better physical shape than last year.

The Kings chose Sabonis over Simmons. Not a difficult choice (then or now) either, btw lol

They are the real winners of that deadline. Obviously the Pacers got a good one in Haliburton, but the Kings would have been set back years if they got the husk of Ben Simmons as a return.

I imagine if Morey wasn’t asking for the moon for them to acquire Simmons, he very well could have ended up there instead of Sabonis. Pretty sure the rumors were he was asking for Fox or Hali plus at least 3 FRPs.

Yes, I believe Morey really wanted to get Harden and unintentionally did them a favor lol. Time will tell if he made the right choice.

I think the rumor was either Fox or Haliburton plus Hield and picks were offered. Morey wanted both Fox and Hali for Ben.

Which means he was nowhere near serious.

Have the Embiid Sixers ever finished top 10 in both?

Nope.

Neither did the Iverson Sixers.

Crazy to think about. Really gives some perspective on how rare and important this opportunity is.

Based on offensive and defensive ratings, the eventual champion should come from one of three teams this year: Celtics, Sixers, or Cavs. This is by far our best chance to actually win.

Seems like we're on track to meet Boston in the 2nd round. It's just a matter of whether or not we'll have home-court.

I fully expect Cleveland to "upset" Milwaukee in round 2.

I'm starting to think our DRTG is gonna fall from top 10 by the end of the season, we're 20th since January and basically still being great thanks to the November numbers.

Still, the eye test seem to show we just have lazy defense until the game is on the line, is a strange thing.

Our ORTG has improved each month tho and we're now, the best shooting team on the league with Denver on percentage

I feel like our defense has turned into a "crunch time" defense. They seem to turn it on and off when it matters (not that I agree with this strategy at all).

Springer Replaces Milton
Tucker takes Niangs spot off bench..
Resign McDaniels and Reed
Keep House and Melton
Resign Harden and Maxey

Trade Tobias and Korkmaz for Athletic complimentary player.

This team will be highly athletic and switchable around our core of Embiid,Harden and Maxey for years to come.
.the future is bright!!!

Taking tiebreakers into account, we’re 3.5 GB from Milwaukee and 3 GB from Boston heading into the Wizards game.

My hope for championship is officially back.

We have to finish season strong and get #2 seed.
I don’t see us beating both Celtics and Bucks without HCA.
Sixers fan since 2001. From Russia.

The 4th quarter defensive chops is the most important revelation I see as far as chip aspirations. As fans we forget these are humans out there playing night in and out. On planes, in different cities, it wears on you during the regular season grind. They just don’t all play hard, all the time, at the same time. Some take a game off, some should take a game off. It’s a marathon. But these 4th quarters are like snapshots of what they are capable of when they all come together. They get the stops when they need them. This team is looking deep and is way better than most predicted.

Any action from the Bucks or Celts deadlier than this?
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
