I still think he will end up being a terrific bench player, but he is really balling right now, and he is clearly improving.

His rookie season has been very streaky, and he has had some very bad streaks, but he is currently playing the best that he has ever played in the NBA, and he isn't doing it with gimmicks, or just a hot streak from deep.

He is doing a variety of things well right now. Passing, and driving to score points, while continuing to compete on both ends, and on the glass, and shooting well from beyond.

Nah. I think most realize he's a high quality NBA player. Theat very well mean being a 6th man on a great team. That's not selling anyone short.

Several people on here actually don't seem to think he is very good.

Advanced stats are great but very inadequate when describing half of a season of a rookie.

Uhh...he's been great over the last 5 games but the guy is still shooting sub 40% for the season and sub 33% from 3 while being a pretty big liability on D and not generating much in terms of steals/blocks. He doesn't finish well at the rim and doesn't get to the free throw line much. He also turns the ball over at a high rate.

I have nothing against his potential and said I envision him as one of the offensive leaders of our future second unit, but anyone who suggests that he's been a high quality NBA player for the majority of this season is kidding themselves. It's also ridiculous to use that as a criticism of advanced stats.

This isn't being down on him or thinking he doesn't have a future. This is just being realistic about his production thus far. If his last 5 games are indicative of his production going forward, he'll be a good player in the league.

He has been very up and down this year, but when he has been up, he's shown a lot of talent. He is playing the best that he has played in the last two weeks too.

I really like the flashes he has shown, especially the intangibles. I don't so much care about his production thus far.

But I see where you are coming from and it is a very sensible approach.

Dario and TJ both. Low upside warriors who need to work on their 3pt shots :)

Saric is not as good as Porzingis but what are all the things he does better than him? I think it should only reboundig and passing. Is that it? And why does Saric always look like he's running in quick sand? His sprint looks like a fast walk. He can never catch up to players dribbling fast on a break. It's comical.

So happy that Saric decided to join the Sixers this year. Already a real leader out there and one of many Sixers that are just a joy to watch compete.

I really like this guy but you gotta wonder if there's any point getting too attached. Simmons and he are both clearly 4s......so BCs gonna trade him for 2nds at some point instead of paying him.

Untradeable if we want to be contenders in 2-3 years.

48 minutes of Dario / Simmons in the BB system.
I can't wait.

If Biid doesn't come back this season, Saric has to be the ROTY.

Dare I say co-ROYwith Embiid?

Embiid was clearly the dominant rookie in the NBA but didn't play more than 45 games this season when it is all said and done.

Saric played every game and got better as the season progressed.

What impresses me most about Saric is that he has played a ton of basketball over the past year (Efes in the EuroLeague, Croatian National Team/Olympics, NBA) and he has only gotten better. No rookie wall, no regression. Remember, Dario is only 22 years old. This guy is already a good NBA player. He will improve as this team grows.

In the NBA, good teams build around 3 three or four players. Everyone else is interchangeable. The Sixers will build around Embiid, Simmons, and Saric. Plus, they will have one (or perhaps two) lottery picks in a deep draft this coming June. They may have 4 or 5 core players around which they can build.

Saric as a stretch 4 will fit in well with Simmons as a point forward/point guard and Embiid as the 5. Add a knockdown 3-point shooting guard and this is a playoff team in the East in 2017-18.

We all might be selling Dario short. I thought he was top bench player, but if can put up 20-10 without shooting the ball well imagine what will happen if he improves his ability to hit shots from the perimeter. Yes, he is below par athlete, but the hustle and energy he has is talent also. He is so skilled, so many fakes, hestitation moves. Unlike most international players, he is tough, tenacious. And his basketball IQ is so high. If he becomes above average jump-shooter, Dario is All-Star calibre player.

If he even half way buys into transforming his body he will be a fringe all star. Dude needs time to get used to the NBA 3 tho.

I really think he can be the PF version of Ginobili. Simmons could start at the 4 and Dario would play backup 3 and 4. Be a perennial 6th man and be an all star consideration each season. He'd be an above average starter but potentially the best bench player in the league.
