I could be wrong on this but I think the Spurs are pivoting to a one year tank. I doubt they'll want Simmons to ruin that at this point.

Still believe as I did from the beginning that is will resolve to a Fox/Simmons swap at the end of the whole thing.

Let's not trade Ben for a PG unless it's Lilliard level

We are cool with Maxey and Seth backcourt .

We need a upgrade over Danny Green .

Let's look into Jaylen Brown , Ingram , Beal or Lavine.

Forget tryna trade for Fox or dejajnte Murray lmao especially with Maxey doing his thang, winning and gaining confidence.

I think he'd be perfectly with a DNP. He doesn't want to play, if he goes out there and plays like trash there isn't really anything the Sixers can do in terms of fining. No fine for sucking.

Although making him sit on the bench would be torture enough lol. He'd get his ass booed.

Well it’s a good lesson to learn that you never ever bite the hand that feeds you and done so repeatedly. And they get fed good and proper.

i agree. which is why they're asking him to prove that he is being treated for this mental illness that he claims he has - but he isn't doing it. Why is that?

We need to be clear that the Simmons camp never actually claimed mental illness. They said that he isn't mentally prepared to play yet and the Sixers decided to give him time to get prepared. I think it is very purposeful that the Simmons camp never said mental illness, but they thought that maybe the implication would be enough to keep Ben getting paid indefinitely.

Simmons is going to prove as all wrong. He is on his way to the nearest urgent care to get that note to show Morey as we speak.

Teams know what Simmons can do, which is considerable, they know his limitations and contract and all the rest are just signs of an imminent divorce. Having a mental illness is something up to 25% of the population in the US has at any time, so while it less less common than more common, it is not at all unusual. What he is dealing with is likely exacerbated by a difficult relationship with his employer and numerous other parties including Klutch, the media and fans. I have seen nothing to indicate that he is mentally incapacitated and given that a quarter of the players in the league likely have some form of metal illness, most of them manageable with treatment and sadly many of them untreated or hidden for fear of stigma, that issue isn't going to make him harder to trade.

The scorched earth thing doesn't matter, it is only the billionth time we have seen that in the league. It is still all a matter of the team and Simmons looking at and exercising their various contractual rights, which I am fairly sure are being looked at by lawyers and other experts on both sides, while he waits to be traded. He isn't an old player slipping into uselessness or something like that in the next few months, and coming back to play now has more downside for the team than upside. The team is playing well, really well, though they will likely struggle in the tough schedule and playing shorthanded the next couple of weeks, but chemistry is good to great and they are fun to watch.

If he comes back now and they suddenly struggle with him in the lineup, or he looks just as bad shooting FT's as he did in the playoffs because he is stressed and looking over his shoulder given the hole he has dug himself with the fans, or worse, suffers a serious injury, then his value goes down.

What Morey is waiting for had little to do with Simmons playing and far more to do with other teams and front offices seeing or thinking they need him in a direct trade or three teamer. It's early, but getting past early quickly for some teams. It is more about the other team's perceptions of themselves and their own players that will change over time, and hence why Morey is waiting until that right opportunity presents itself. The fans love the current team he has built, so there is patience there, even if they have a tougher time the next few weeks because everyone knows they are playing with a less than full deck. Time and turmoil in other markets that develop in time are Morey's friends now and he is watching and waiting and observing what his own team needs as well.

My god it just continues! Watch, now he'll show up and do the bare minimum of what he's contractually obligated to do. This will be a nightmare. The more this sits and simmers, the less we have to work with. I'm not saying trade him for a pile of crap, but lets get to work on making his departure a dream come true. I can't believe this goof gets paid 360,000 dollars a game!

The team needs the extra body. At this point, I am not even sure if Simmons makes us better, but we do need another facilitator asap because Maxey should not be playing 45 minutes a night.

With the way the season is going, I would take CJ in a second. The offense is so much more dynamic with the offense going through Joel and 4 shooters spacing.

Amazing how Simmons physiological issues started as soon as the checks stopped coming in.

Sixers are still a good team without Bum Simmons, it's hilarious how some posters here claimed we would suck, when in reality we will still just probably suck in postseason as usual, but that happened with our little primadonna too.
The reality is that he doesn't command the value most of the fanbase seeks, you don't trade him just to fix this mess, I am ok with waiting, he has 4 years left on his contract after all, but we also have to be realistic, if CJ is the best we can do then I would be ok honestly, unless you think CJ doesn't make us better than we are now, even if only slightly.

If Simmons didn't hero-worship LeBron as much as he does, he would have left Klutch by now.

Morey is going to force Ben to man up and earn his money. Good.

That being said. I don’t really want him playing. All he’s going to do is dog it.

Not only that, but a sure way to ruin the vibe this team has going right now would be to stick his pouting ass on the bench during games, and bring back all the negativity of the off season. I don't want Morey to change his stance, but at the same time the sooner he is out of here the better.

Maxey played 45 minutes yesterday because we had an 8 man rotation, i mean Paul Reed played SF yesterday for a while.

He's averaging around 30 minutes not 45

Blazers, Wolves and Kings clearly need a shakeup.

If Ben had a brain; he would play the upcoming 6 game road trip and play his a$$ off.

I don't even want him playing at this point. We're developing some chemistry with who we have in place. He will screw all of that up if he comes back and plays. In fact, I don't think he ever plays another minute for this franchise again. This is by far the longest, most strenuous pissing match I have ever witnessed between disgruntled player vrs GM. Can't remember another lasting as long as this one. We've literally made history in an embarrassing fashion with this.
