Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
Dallas averages about 15 made threes per game. Last night, they only made 7. The Celtics hit their average on the head. That's basically all this was. The Celtics are the deeper team, but I expect Dallas to make this a close series and win their home games.

Nah Boston will coast. It will go 6 because Silver lost a ton of money on the conference finals only going 4 and 5, but Boston will complete the easiest title since LeMickey's Basketball Bubblethon.

Dallas looked shellshocked, but they are tough. I think they steal the next one.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
The Mavs got blown out in game 1 of both the Clippers series & the Thunder series so I’m not going to overreact. My big worry is that Kyrie will struggle like he did against OKC, but the Mavs can’t afford that against Boston.

I think the Mavs will bounce back, but they don't have anyone to match up with Porzingas. If he was out, the Mavs would have won this series in 5 or 6.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
If Porzingis plays anywhere near this level offensively and defensively, there is no chance Dallas win this.
They can get a few games if Kyrie catches fire, but that's it.
With Porzingis playing well Boston is a really stacked team, even if they lack an absolute stud top 5 player.
They are like the 2004-2006 Pistons, probably even a little better because they have more firepower.

always a jump shot away.

Imagine being a "Sixers fan" and still being triggered years later because a poster took shots at the team's most hated rival.
Having to seek attention on a Sixers board by regularly bashing one of the best players in franchise history and calling him a loser and shilling the team's biggest rival. I'm sorry your parents didn't love you.

I think Dallas has plenty to go against porzingis... PJ and Maxi... Maybe even DJJ. Problem is, they also have to worry about Brown and Tatum.

If Luka doesn’t play tonight I need an official asterisk next to this Boston title. They’ve got some witchcraft going to have every major player hurt for their opponent in every series they played.

Brad Steven’s should win Finals MVP if they win. He was somehow able to construct this insane roster.

Yea, I mean, didn’t we build the team with stars who don’t show up in the playoffs? We had the blueprint the whole time, just needed an all time supporting cast! Simple!

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
it's annoying how even as far back as 08 when Boston got Ray and KG, teams just seem to bend backwards when dealing with Boston. Meanwhile we have to give picks up in 2035 to get scraps

It's time to have the conversation.

It seems like it's always been that way for the Celtics and Lakers. Strange, innit?

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
"Boston gave up two key pieces — point guard Malcolm Brogdon, the NBA's reigning Sixth Man of the Year, and forward Robert Williams — and Portland gets two future first-round draft picks."
Well on paper this deal looked good for Portland, but it turned out both Brogdon and Williams were damaged goods. I think these Boston moves were just brilliant GM-ing, perhaps some of the greatest moves ever.
