Cupcake apparently disgruntled that he was put on the trade block. If PG can rehab his value the rest of the year, PG for Cupcake in play this offseason!

NO *** WAY! The home crowd would not tolerate his incompetence anymore even for a bag of chips with constant boos. Doubt he wants to even set foot in Philly ever again like KD ever wants to play for the Warriors again cause of one player!

I actually don't think he'd get booed if he chose to come back. It would be the one time in his NBA career that he actually showed some balls.

Ben’s sucks as a max player, but as a minimum contract guy, he is a great defender and passer. I would have no interest in him ever being a point guard on our team. He is so limited on offensive, especially when teams want to load the floor with shooters. He can hang around the dunker’s spot, rebound, and play a little defense.

My guess is too many people in the organization want nothing to due with him. I think Ben would consider it. He would have to be embraced by the team and would eventually get a serious chance at redemption.

Seems almost unrealistic, but probably has a slight chance of happening if they think he could help the team.

Oh yeah, absolutely feels unrealistic that he would actually come back, or even more so, that Embiid would be cool with it in the first place.

Going 2k mode where none of that stuff matters... I think he'd help. Or, at least the old version of him would. The defense, the distribution, the transition game, the rebounding. Maxey and Yabu were the exact type of players we were missing during the Ben/Jo years.

I'm with you cause he refused to dunk and turn it over to lose a playoffs game. That is unforgivable for a number 1 pick!

Hawks just cut Bones. If he pass thru waivers, maybe we can pick him up but I was hoping the Hawks would cut Mann instead cause we always wanted him for Harden at the time. Loved him in college.

Come on, bro. You should already know by now that the moment that KD's plane touches down in Philly, his knee will shatter and he'll never play a single minute for us while Morey extends him for the max. It's the Sixer way unfortunately especially when it comes to older stars who are past their prime.

Cleveland, Houston, and the Clippers are all rumored to have interest in Simmons as a bench piece. Why on earth would he even think about coming here and all the baggage involved when legit playoff teams will be calling?

I think he ends up in Cleveland if they make an offer. He gives an already good team a rebounder and facilitator off the bench, just makes them deeper. And he could be a big factor in a potential ECF against Boston guarding their long wings. Perfect fit, a shot at a ring, and none of the drama he would deal with here.

Because he "loves Philly" and thinks "the fans of Philadelphia are incredible"

He also said previously:

People always ask me like, ‘If you were to get traded again where you want it to be?’ I always say, ‘Just Philly. Philly is a second home to me.’

... But yeah, I agree.

I never said I think he is coming here. I actually think it would be highly unlikely he would come here, which is why I said “slight chance.” I was just discussing where I think both sides heads are at if it the opportunity where ever presented,

It'll never happen... But just imagine how big of a F you to this organization it would be if Ben Simmons and James Harden won a title.

Anyway, Ben gets to live out his dream: living in LA and playing for a team that nobody gives a F about.

At this point what is Embiid's trade value? It's plummeted a ton in just a year and a half.

Not high enough for any of us to think we’re royally f’ing up by not trading him. Same reason we’d be thinking about trading him, league knows the injury risk as much as we do.

Few months of healthy play, and he too can be a Laker by the end of 2025. They just got an extra pick back and ready for Philly.

Sixers plan to sign David Roddy to a 10-day per Adam Aaronson. That gets us to 15 standard (non 2-way) contracts, which should allow Jared Butler to play on his 2-way, since I believe we were out of 2-way availability if under 15 standard roster spots.

Anyone with a scouting report on Roddy? Or on our other 10-day signing Chuma Okeke?

This. If Joel can be reasonably healthy the rest of the year and in the playoffs, his trade value should go up a lot. Right now it's rock bottom, but if he finishes the season strong one or more teams will convince themselves to roll the dice.

I just started a thread because I was curious where we were at with the 15 standard contracts with Okeke, Roddy, and Edwards.
