id do it easily... Beasley is only 21 with as much talent if not more than anyone on our roster....

a change of scenery and not being the second fiddle to a stud like Wade could possibly shift his focus to becoming a player....

adding a young player with the skills of Beasley would be a great move for our team.

Some guys really are just such bad guys nobody wants them. Really how crappy of a person and player do you ahve to be to go from the second pick in the draft to trade bait for Jason Kapono? Real bad. What kind of trade chip is he when every team in the lague already doesn't want him?

I am not surprised the team has no interest in him and will happily turn down headcases again and again. This team had a bad enough attitude last year with a bunch of mostly decent guys, the last thing Collins needs is to try and baby some major loser just because he was over rated coming out of college. Hell, he couldn't even stay on one high school team for very long. I didn't like him in the draft, thought he would be another Glenn Robinson and so far he has severely underperformed those mild expectations.

NO to Beasley, even for free. If they threw in a draft pick I might take it and cut him.

Well said, sir. No to Beasley even for free for all the obvious reasons (or you'd think were obvious yet still some here want him anyway. Boggles the mind)

I'm glad those who are in the position to really decide on this have their wits about them.

Particularly when it could come at zero cost. I wouldn't count on him being flippable, but I cannot understand not being willing to take a flier on him. It is not like we are the Celtics at this point. And I don't think Collins lets him posion Jrue et all, so I just don't see the downside.

i really dont see what Beasley has done that warrants him being a complete cancer or off court liability.

for a high character young team that lacks a true star, and players that can score the ball...it would be silly to NOT take a chance of such a young high reward risk player for pennies on the dollar.

I think its a no brainer if this is on the table

Agreed, he played pretty well on the Heat. Way below expectations but still solid. But it does make the SF logjam really interesting to see what we would do.

Beasley has been a pf primarily, so not sure it effects sf logjam unless you move thad to sf? That lineup feels very weird.

I don't see why we need a tweener that doesn't post up, pass, rebound, or play defense. On top of that he does dumb stuff like this

LeBron leaving for the heat just caused Iggy's value to rise dramatically thats for sure - Trade for Beasley and see what he can do - Trade Iggy to one of the teams that are now scrambling and will give us a deal in our favor

We trade a garbage player for a guy who is young and still has potential - how is that a bad deal?

Any GM that would not trade virtually nothing (Kapono) for Beasley becuase he is holding out false hope for a move in the future should be fired.

The move for Beasley isn't a make or break move, but from moves Ed has made to rumors we have been hearing, it seems Ed has virtually no knowledge of basketball and should be fired. If this deal is on the table and Ed turns it down he should not have a front office basketball position ever again.

Word out of Miami has been that Wade and the coaching staff despise the guy. They have been trying to trade him for a month for free, sometimes giving things away with him and no one has taken him. There must be something severely wrong with him off the court and he has not impressed on the court.

We have a high character young team, yes, for one reason, they don't take on bad guys after the whole Iverson/Webber debacle. Sammy wasn't nearly as much of a cancer as this guy is reputed to be and more useful, yet he was shipped out to make a point to the rest of the team. Bring Beasley in and you undo all of that.

I don't see how having a team full of good young players helps Beasley. A team full of strong willed, established veterans like the Lakers can handle a Ron Artest type, Beasly would just posion the good thing we are slowly building here.

I wouldn't do it straight up. I'd want more...and they don't have more. Their draft picks just lost a lot of worth as well.

^ What would you be looking for in a Kapono deal or a Kapono package at the deadline.

This.

Why do we need another 3/4 guy who is not a plus-rebounder/defender and is going to b!tch about his minutes and shots? At least Nocioni will put somebody on their azz around the basket...my sense is that - with the trade of Sammy as Exhibit A - Collins is looking to change the personality of this team to a defense-first, high work-ethic, be responsibile/accountable on the court kind of team. Adding Beasley is anathema to that way of thinking.

Pass.

The real question is.. Would Kapono or Michael Beasley contribute more for us this season even if its barely nothing? I don't think that is a hard question to think about.
