So I'm guessing no interest in Lamb?

i have lots of interest in lamb... drummond, lamb, perry jones in that order for me in terms of guys who we can get either by trade or staying at 15

not sure if i want to try to build the team around another guy that is known for his mid range shot. It's not 1965 anymore.

that said i wouldn't jump off of anything too high if we went up and got lamb without taking a bad contract back.

Chat on hoopsworld

Brian

What are the latest Iguodala rumors

Yannis Koutroupis

Nothing with a ton of substance.

Just figured I'd post the yannis response

I'd rather have Lamb than Terrence Friggin Ross.

who says we are building around lamb? why cant he fit perfectly around jrue and turner?

lamb shot 60% on mid range jumpers last year.. and can shoot the 3.... he would spread the floor beautifully

more from the chat:

Ryan

There has been a lot of talk about the Sixers trading up. Who are they targeting?

Yannis Koutroupis

Hearing they’re gonna go with a four man.

Sam

Is there any chance Eric Gordon could end up in Philly?

Yannis Koutroupis

Doubtful.

Beau

If you were an NBA GM, at what spot would you consider Sullinger worth the risk given his back issues?

Yannis Koutroupis

Probably 15.

nothing earth shattering but just some more insider stuff  lol:

yeah the mid range thing, like i said.

not sure if he can shoot the 3 yet, certainly not the sniper some people are hoping for.

he also forces turner to play the 3 which isn't a good long term plan. maybe if you go up and get him then deal turner it would be good.

there's also the issue that his team kind of sucked this year despite two lottery picks on it.

like i said, i could live with it, but i don't love it.

i think lamb is going to be really really good... paul george with a better midrange shot and better handle good

that chat made it sound like we are after henson if we trade up or sullinger at 15 if we stay

man o man.... mediocritown.... shoot me

If we don't get Drummond this draft will be a bust for us. Sullinger is not the answer, nor is Henson or the other big prospects besides Anthony Davis. Evan Turner needs to take Iguodalas place next year as the teams point forward to maximize his skillset and we need to get a real shooting guard. No excuses! No shortcuts!

I have knocked Lamb for things other than what he can do on the floor (basically what he's got upstairs), but I do think his skill set would be ideal for the Sixers. He has a great feel for the game...he moves well without the ball and he's got the shooting we desperately need. He needs to add some bulk to his frame for sure, but I don't think that will hurt him too much.

The problem I have is, I don't know if he's worth moving Iguodala for. If he was sitting there around pick 11-14, then I would try and deal 15 and some other future asset (pick probably) to go get him, but it may also depend on who's still on the board. I wouldn't move 15 + for Lamb if we could stay put at 15 and get P. Jones.

the thing about lamb, is not only can he shoot from distance, he has an amazing midrange shot, he can come off screens to score... and if that isnt good enough, he can CREATE HIS OWN SHOT

and plays good man to man defense...

idk whats not to like.. no one knows if hes dumb or not, quite frankly though i dont care

I wonder if some of you have actually watched a full game ofJohn Henson's jr year. Y'all make him out to be terrible. I'm not going to waste time arguing about it, but consider this:

He drastically improved each year at UNC. His shot blocking and length are on an elite level. His defensive IQ is very high. He rebounds at a great pace, WITH Zeller and Barnes on the floor with him. His jumper has definitely been improved, his FT% went up 4% per year from age 19-21. His range has increased on his jumper. His post up game is dramatically better than when he was a freshman. He has a left handed hook-shot that's nearly impossible to block. He finished 62% of his non post up shots at the rim.

He won't be a 20 and 10 guy, but he will certainly be a 12-12-3 guy. That's game changing. And his rebounding is something this team sorely lacks. His athleticism didn't "test" well? His standing reach is 2 inches higher than anyone else in the draft. His wingspan is 7'5, and he's almost 6'11. And his timing and IQ make him one of the best shot blockers around. He's soft or too thin? Needs to add strength? He's put on 20-30 pounds since HS, and can easily continue to add weight and strength, especially once in the NBA.

Henson is going to be a good pro because he has a great head on his shoulders and has great work ethic. He isn't mixed up in the wrong crowd in life, and he is extremely humble off the court. Offensively, he's going to surprise some people. I can see why the Sixers are high on him.

Hoping to land top 10 projected players is a bad move, your setting yourself up for a let down.

Terrence Ross reminds me of JR Smith,Subtract a little ball handling and add more defense.

Hensons a project due to his size, but he can become an elite shotblocker in the league. Worth the risk given this teams lack of shot blocking.

At 15... You just roll the dice on who you like. Most of the time, your getting a role player.

I'd be all for Henson. He isn't gonna bang downlow, but he can become a difference maker on the defensive end.

Notwithstanding the draft selection(s), trades, etc., if Hawes is re-signed as the starting center next year, that may be the most disappointing result of them all. I was fine with the 1 year, $4 million contract he signed before this past season and think he could be a solid back up C, but as the starter with a raise, no less, that would be painful.
