That is a pretty talented top 4 right there. I also have one eye on Malik Pope. I have never watched him play, but he was supposedly an elite prospect that missed a lot of development time in high school due to injuries.

He played all of his freshman season, and it is possible that he may be a star this year. If he is then he jumps into the top half of the lottery I think.

Don't believe the nonsense about this being a weak draft. That baseless statement is literally made every summer about the upcoming draft.

Yup, completely agree. It's going to be a fine draft.

I think the other major component of why it's viewed as so weak is because of the hype of the potential 2017 class. Rightly or wrongly, the Simmons/Skal class has been routinely overshadowed by their younger counterparts for a few years now.

Would sixers fans do this?

Den
Joel Embiid

76ers
Ty lawson
Second rounder

Tony Wroten isn't a point guard
Ty Lawson is as close as you will get and he's still young
Joel is so injury prone he has a better chance of having a career as a comedian than nba player so we will take the risk of trading our best player for him

That offer is so insulting that you didn't even want to post it on your main account.

On my main account? Listen even if he ever plays he'll be the next Andrew Bogut. The trade would be a steal for you guys and you know damn well tony Wroten sucks as a point guard. He's better at the 2

Ty
Wroten
Covington
Noel
Okafor

Will get you into the playoffs rather than watching your team tank for another year. Plus like you said they have FOUR first round picks next year. I don't mean to be rude but there is more of a chance of porzingus being a superstar than Joel ever playing more than 60 games in one season

Possibly, but the fact Embiid is better on one foot than anyone currently on the nuggets roster makes any trade with him and the Nuggets clearly impossible, unless the Nuggets agree to trade the entire team, which screws the Sixers and keeping salaries below the cap floor until the trade deadline.

I would however consider Lawson and next years first rounder for Embiid, and btw he is healthy.

There is a very good chance the Miami pick does not convey. Frankly I'd rather it not anyway unless it was to be 11-15.

Then theres the OKC pick which will likely be in the 20's.

I basically see us as having our pick and the Lakers pick, since the OKC pick is not much of an asset. I still love the position we are in for next year though.

What do you mean we don't necessarily have four picks in the upcoming draft?

Because the OKC pick will be 24, that means it doesn't count as a pick? It'd have to be a disaster year in Miami for the Heat pick to not convey.

There's at least 90% chance we'll have all four picks next year.

and a 100% chance that one gets used on a Euro stash and one on a center/power forward.

This is a baseless statement if I've ever seen one. One, actual scouts don't say this about every draft every year. Two, it's pretty widely agreed that this years draft class is lacking in both depth and star power. The only other recent draft class that people I trust have been this down on was the 2013 draft.

I don't know if it's widely agreed, but I don't think they have stepped on the court yet.

For as long as I've been posting on RealGM, I've read statements during the summer proclaiming that the upcoming draft was going to be weaker than the one that just passed. It's becoming an annual cliche, at this point.

I'm a college basketball guy so I'm calling bulls*** on that statement. There are some legit returning players and an amazing freshman class coming in (particularly along the wings).

Do you honestly believe a group of Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram and Skal Labissiere lacks for star power?

If you had your choice right now for the PG of the Sixers who would you choose among
Kris Dunn
Demetrius Jackson
Malik Newman
Jamal Murray

Yeah, this 2016 draft class is looking strong. Great year to have 4 firsts, 2 of which should be in the lottery.

Where would you guys rank Ben Simmons with the last two number 1 picks, Wiggins and Towns?

Judging from the crowd it doesn't seem like we are too proud of him but I am willing to take him in today.

I'll reserve comment on the incoming fresh until we get a chance to dissect their game. I like Dunn substantially more than Demetrius Jackson, though. I'm not even sure if Demetrius is capable of playing PG.

Simmons is far and away the best highschool player of the three. Coming out of highschool, I'd rank them Simmons-Wiggins-Towns.

Briscoe cause I think he has the most potential.
