I would be okay with waiving Sergio and signing Randle to a minimum contract for the rest of the season.

Sixers have 14 before Randle so they wouldn't need to waive Sergio. Not that I am saying they couldn't/shouldn't.

He should be cutting into Sergio's minutes to see what he can do...

Sounds like a Hinkie Special! BC will not get criticized and we can continue to point out the media's hypocrisy.

I'm mildly surprised, but also looking forward to see Randle develop.
Maybe the front office sees Randle as a good fit with Simmons. Randle is the secondary ball handler, but his primary job is to guard opposing PGs and nail three point shots. Might excel at that role.

I irrationally like Randle so I'm in. As the last guy on the good ship process, I really can't complain.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Interesting. I definitely like him better than guys like Canaan and Wilbekin. Doesn't pound the life out of the ball to get his own shot.

He may make the team next season as a 17th man...But he is not a decent player

Hmmm, I don't know how I feel about a three year deal for an undrafted player on multiple 10-day contracts. He does seem like a solid guard though based on the Milwaukee game.
I would rather give him a contract to the end of this year and re-evaluate in the summer.

It's almost 100% certain that there are no guarantees beyond this year anyway, so it's essentially the same thing.

It's got team options ('trigger dates') built in. This is better for us.

No risk move really. Though hopefully have better options then Randle for next season.

Id be fine trading or cutting Sergio at this point, especially with Ben coming back within the next month hopefully.

Re: Welcome... Chasson Randle? Who?
Congrats Chasson
I m happy with that. He can become the back up for TJ quite easily. The opportunity is there I wish him to take it.
Anyway good signing, no risk at all for us, nothing bad can happen from it so that's all good. And I personally like him. Delighted with the news tbh

Re: Welcome... Chasson Randle? Who?
At first glance, I was like WTF would they sign him for 3 years but after pondering it for a bit, it makes more sense. If nothing else, it makes Sergio and Bayless expendable. I would look to add Bayless as a throw-in to any deal involving Okafor or Noel.
