We have a better bench with Marco and Ersan. We wouldn’t be where we at without them on the team.

Simmons having Ersan and Belinelli to play with when Embiid and Redick sits probably has a lot to do with this.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Belineli is one of these shooters that can get hot, and it’s awesome to have that kind of role player. If he isn’t hitting his shots then go to someone else, but if he is, then just keep feeding him.

Played some pretty good teams as well. It's only been the last 10 or so games that have been easy but in February 8 of the 11 games were against playoff teams and went 8-3.

Simmons recent play without Embiid seems to have quieted most of the Mitchell ROY talk down.

On Bill Simmons' most recent podcast, he talked about how Ben carries himself like a 29 year old and always has complete control on the court. Which is the stuff that we always mention. I think it's awesome that national guys are recognizing and acknowledging it.

I've mentioned before how having Ben may not giving you Lebron like scoring but may give you an edge because of his mismatch nature.

I'm looking at the Raps and why they have a trouble with Bron despite how strong their team was compared to other Bron opponent before. One thing stands out for me, they don't have a star wing like a Paul George or a Paul Pierce who also has the size and respect from the refs to match-up to him.

This probably also explains why the Celts have a fetish for long two way wings.

When play-off comes, the frequency of having an iso type game increases that a Bron vs unnamed wing gives the Cavs a huge advantage despite whatever star guard you have against George Hill.

More ammunition that Simmons guards 1-5 better then anyone else. Apologies if it has been posted before. I can’t remember seeing it.

I have a question. Let’s say Covington misses this 3. Was this the right basketball play? Does anyone think Simmons should have gone up and shot it instead of passing it all the way out to the 3 point line?

It looks like Drummond is closing in to contest a shot at the rim so imo I think it's ok.

He probably should have shot it, but it was a split second decision and it went in. Fine with me.

A good question. Had you shown me this 12 months ago I would have automatically said that Simmons should have taken this shot. After all a bird in the hand yada, yada, yada. I hadn’t followed NBA for years 20 years prior to then.
But am I right in my understanding that now it comes down analytics. If say Covington is 40% for 3’s with no defender within six foot and Simmons is less then 60% from 5 ft with a centre guarding then he passes, but if he is 61% he should shoot.
I just don’t understand how they are supposed to know. I mean Simmons struggled to make C’s in college. I’m sure the mental arithmetic to calculate all those percentages and distances doesn’t come easy to him, especially in the middle of a game. :D I guess he just goes with what feels right at the time.

It is as plain as the nose on everyone's face that Ben's role in the team is to drive to the basket to draw defenders and hit wide open shooters with passes at the 3 point line. BB doesn't even hide the fact that he is a fan of this style.

So I think Ben passing that out is as much to do with game plans than anything else. A wide open 3 pointer is probably what an 80% make? Compared to a 2 pointer with a big defender right next to him being less points and less chance of him scoring.

It was the right play. It's choosing between taking a challenged shot at the rim or a open 3 at the corner. Corner 3s are king in 3pt shots

I don’t have a problem with Ben passing it out for a 3 but the dunk was right there. I think he could have beaten Drummond for an easy dunk. However I do think if Covington misses that 3 then many people would have gotten on Ben. If Ben does that in a close playoff game and Covington misses then he will hear it from many fans on the radio and message boards.

Agree with you. A wide open 3 pointer is not automatic:

Maybe its a 50% chance for RoCo with a corner 3 (probably higher for JJ). If Ben can hit that lightly contested 5 footer at 75% chance then its break even.

Drummond was ready to send that into the second row. I think he made the right choice.
