Doesn't the team that loses gets eliminated?

Brett Brown came to the same conclusion and it almost saved the Celtics series for us.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
I want the Westbrook experience to continue he’s a one man show good or bad by himself. Like Denzel said the newspaper is 90% bs but it’s entertaining I feel the exact same way with Westbrook. And also **** the Celtics

Man, forgot how much i like Ish Smith
:)
I'd be fine with bringing him as a back up vet guard at some point in the future.

Watching this Celtics team is like watching a horse with a lame leg. They might make it around the track but its sad to watch.

Problem with brett was his over reliant on analytics (NetRtg of line-ups) and lack of experience as a head coach. Kind of explain why Jimmy also hated him with not running PnRs.
But that move when he inserted TJ was a brilliant move so was putting Biid on Siakam (ive mentioned it here before he implemented it) it’s just the timing were bad.
Another thing was we were dying to make it to the playoffs back then. So unlike with Doc this season, we weren’t able to experiment much so there’s a lot of uncertainty

Re: The Playoffs Thread
I dont think we have enough sample size. But on eyetest the offense is much better when its being run by guys like Ish, Fultz or Maxey.
Its mainly because the game has designed the PnR to be the most effective action on offense, and we can’t do that with Ben being a PG.
think about it.. we have 3 all defensive team players and we still struggle defending the PnR.
I feel (im not speaking with certainty) like if you can have just a decent PG who can run PnR like Dragic or Conley, it would make a huge difference that it can easily compensate whatever contribution of Ben. Our defense is not anchored by ben and other defensive wings like thybulle can shine and replace, while a PG can also lead the transition offense.
Halfcourt offense is the most important aspect of the game. More than defense. More than transition offense. If you can make a leap on your halfcourt offense, you can easily make big improvements with your team.
Most games in the playoffs is basically a game of runs until a close game down the stretch. It will ask each team “how good are you on your halfcourt offense?”
This season should have been a disaster if not for Embiid making a big leap of improvement on his jumpshot that allows us to absorb some lousy offensive actions because we can always dump the ball to Embiid. And you can see this with how bad our offense is when Biid is not playing or whenever Biid’s jumper is not falling.
Should be interesting how we’d perform against the good teams in the playoffs. Good teams. Not in the same hierarchy of Wizards or Hornets.

Re: The Playoffs Thread
It’s because you don’t build an offense around Odom/Green or Ben. Ben is a 4,Ben has never been and never will be a PG.
Magic/LBJ/Luka/Bird is the god tier because their range of skillsets is huge and the lvl of skill is so goddamn high.
Sixers didn’t do their due diligence with Fultz (workout) and most of the picks. 20+ppg two way projecting super young wing was right then and there for the pickings. A high lvl PG by the name of Shai was right there too. So was Fox etc etc.
Playoffs bogs down all the time if you can’t score in the halfcourt you are not that valuable if the rest of your skillset doesn’t have an elite thing in it. You basically need two to not be liable on the court, our main engine is all the way flawed that goes with Embiid too. Whoever is buying Embiid’s INDIVIDUAL scoring not offense let alone team offense will be very disappointed.
We are bringing in as our guards go a couple of sticks to a missle fight.
And Harris is average of a lot of skills and a master of none. Harris is the worst type of player to pair with Embiid/Simmons. A non elite scoring/shooting/playmaking PF that needs usage to be effective and not a great defender.
That’s my rant and I’m sticking to it.
Get CJ/Garland or Green. Simple
Lucky we have a cakewalk to the ECF. But it won’t be
Sadly with Embiid’s demise of his defense sacking it for offense we can’t build a Piston’s 2.0 but we are closer to a worse version of Hakeem 95’. Put all the chips in next year.
