If that’s true, I think and hope Morey sees that a floor for Simmons trade. Most probably Portland won’t be a top 6 team in the west in January and that offer will stand in January.

But maybe teams like Pelicans or Kings start badly and put Ingram or Fox on the table.

It’s good to have that type of offer (if true) but I guess Morey thinks he can do better.

Pretty sure POR can do better than that unless we lose Nurk and CJ for 20+ games again

Lakers, Jazz and Suns most likely will be better then Portland.
Nuggets, Warriors and Clippers can be better, I don’t know about that. They are in the same tier as Blazers to me because of Murray Klay and Kawhi injuries. Otherwise those teams are better if healthy.

Mavericks can be better then Portland as well.

But, back to my point, even if you are 5-6 seed in December/January with Klay, Kawhi and Murray being still out, I think that offer is still on the table for Morey.

I would do the rumored CJ, Cov, 1rp deal. Send Shake, Ben, and Joe over. Keep Bball.

We would be loaded with defensive wings in Cov, Green, and Thyb to deal with the beasts in the East. An offensive core of Joel, Tobias, and CJ is very good, and has a chance of being elite. We keep the Maxey ticket that might hit the jackpot.

In the event we remain a 2nd round team, then you can still trade Harris, who will be more tradeable for better value at that point. That will be the last card to play.

I honestly thing a Spurs deal including Dejounte Murray and Derrick White would be better than this rumored CJ McCollum trade, tbh.

If the Spurs would send Murray, White, and Vassell… I’d be willing to add a 1st to Ben. That’s probably just me, though.

Neither one of these players can take over games by themselves. Nor Murray nor White.
Both are just nice role players.
If we can get a ton of picks and swaps in return with them as well, that’s another story.

If we do this trade, I see no championship potential in this team during Embiid’s prime.

That's crazy because neither can Ben Simmons. The difference is that both can shoot FTs, make plays with the ball in their hands, and take shots outside of 3ft. Both are also trending in the right direction offensively while Ben is regressing.

Most of the role players can do that in the RS. Simmons did that as well in the RS, and even in some 1st round playoff games.
He could not do that in the most important moments of playoffs, that’s true.

White has ever been in the 2nd round of playoffs, so we have no idea how he will perform there. Murray has been in the semis once playing 14 MPG as a rookie. And both of them are below average shooters.

We won nothing with Ben Simmons. And I predict we won’t win anything with these two as well.

Simmons trade will be a defining moment of being contenders or not during Embiids prime.
I don’t think Murray and White can make us contenders

Take a look at CJ's elite stats as a pnr ball handler and isos. Statistically at least, he is right up there in Dame territory.

As a catch and shooter, he is every bit as good as Seth.

I dont buy into the CJ rumor. They already traded for Nance and their team is well constructed to compliment the Dame-CJ backcourt.

I personally dont like the deal, but it’s not that bad and we may get out from this trade being better than what I think we’ll be.

P.S. CJ is a really nice person. I like listening to him on his podcast. He’s a BIG AI fan. I mentioned it on my other post, how his journey to where he is right now is the complete opposite of Ben.

JJ recently retired and NBA randomly showed me a highlight of Jj’s top 10 plays for his career. I noticed that most plays are with him as a Sixer. So i ask myself.

Who played a bigger role in the 2018 and 2019 playoffs?

JJ Redick or Ben?

Sorry but i disagree.

My rationale is this.

Short term, you are a much better team with CJ. This is given how much better CJ is compared to Murray. The gap is really big.

Then going forward, it’s easier to get a Murray caliber player with a mid to low first round pick than a guy like CJ. For instance, looking at Jaden Springer, I do think the possibility of him being as good as Murray is way higher than CJ.

If you are OK with the Murray route. Then I’d take the Brogdon deal instead. Get a pick or Duarte along with Brogdon. I also would prefer getting like Buddy Hield or Barnes with a Sac Kings top pick or maybe FVV and a first round pick. While you’re at it.

If highest payoff is getting a top tier star then..

I just think you get yourself out of the highest payoff scenario if you take that Murray package. While the CJ package does not give you a chance for the highest payoff but gets you close (think of Murray = 4, CJ = 7 and Dame =10)) but it has lower risk.
