Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 6
I've been tinkering with a trade, do you folks think this would be fair ?
PHL
Simmons -> MIN
Milton -> ORL
2 future 2ndRPs -> ORL
MIN
Prince -> ORL
Beasley -> PHL
Layman -> PHL
22, 24 FRP -> PHL
ORL
T.Ross -> PHL
Moore ->MIN
future 2RP -> MIN
PHL trades Simmons to MIN plus Shake Milton ends up in Orlando. PHL gives two future 2nds to Orlando also.
In return, The Sixers receive sharpshooters Malik Beasley and Terrance Ross, swingman Jake Layman from both the T-Wolves and Magic. Minnesota sends two First Round Picks '22, and '24 to Philly.
Meanwhile, MIN gets Best Player Traded, Ben Simmons, and combo-guard Etwuan Moore, and a future 2nd-Rounder.
Why ? Solution for Ben Simmons situtaiotn PHL with competent scorers and future picks which will likely be very good considering Minnesota's luck, they get great pieces to fit around Embiid.
MIN gets their lineup of the future with Simmons, Towns, Russell, and Edwards, sacrificing the future, but that franchise needs to win.
ORL swings in to receive picks and help facilitate salary, trading only a future 2nd to MIN and a bench guard to receive four total players.
Cheers

Morey would be fired if he did that trade. Horrendous.

Man, every fan base really wants us to have Malik Beasley.

I think Herrerra isn't gonna be on the Phillies next year and everyone really wants the city to meet it's piece of **** quota.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Raptors could use one more star, especially considering very few players want to play in Canada. Ben fills that bills. Plus they love Scottie Barnes and plays SF too. So, OG is replaceable for them.
No thanks to OG.
Taking back a 3 and D wing as a centerpiece of any deal is nuts to me and I don't really share your optimism about his future development. I mean he is basically maxed out for the role he plays I don't really see him ever developing into a guy who can be 2nd or 3rd leading scorer on a championship team.
OG is already better suited to be a #3 on a championship team than Tobias is.

If Morey was going to take a pick package from Minny, it would've happened by now.
Minny has one shot at Simmons if they really want him. Anthony Edwards.

After the Direct TV Streaming 9/11 stuff he may just be trolling us.
Oh my god. Just listening to this now for the first time. Did nobody say "hey Keith, maybe we should attempt the ad read a different way"? Is it just him running that show?
"Locked on" is like a chain of podcasts. Danny LeRoux did/does the warriors one and it's really good. My theory is Keith just gets a check for it and he has absolutely no oversight. "Oh the Sixers beat writer for the Phildelphia Inquirer, he must be competent, here's a 3 year contract to do 4 podcasts a month." I've only listened to a few and they're all really bad, this took the cake though.

Don’t think anyone here is lobbying for it, just reacting to it being the only legit rumor around

Skimmed and saw multiple pro-Caris posts. He's unspectacular and so is TJ Warren. I like Brogdon but with his injury history he's a woeful centrepiece in a Simmons trade.
I'm with the_process. Sabonis to a third team, or bust.

He wouldn't be the headliner Brogdon would be and he'd be fine as 4th option behind Brogdon, Embiid, and Harris. He showed he could be efficient with Irving and Durant.
He certainly isn't my first choice but if it's Brogdon, Levert and pick you take it imo. The upside there is I think those players healthy are worth more than Simmons. Levert was basically the headliner in the BKN trade for Harden even if you don't like him he has value.

Brogdon and Sabonis for Ben works on a lot of levels.

On the bright side, he's always hurt and currently has back problems. What could go wrong!

I lost count between the number of dumb nonsensical things he said and the number of Klutch talking point he spat out.

Might want to stop on that blueprint, crunch it up and practice a 3-pt shot into the waste bin. After that start anew.

He’s a massive Sixers fan & I somehow doubt that he’s on the Klutch payroll

If he was trying to do a favor for the Sixers, he flopped like most of his comedy bits in movies.

Well he is a ****ing star isn't he? If Ben Simmons was Tony Wroten there would be no 6 part trade thread on this board. There would be no stickied Ben Simmons trade thread on the trade board. There would be no multiple news sources/leaks/stuff on the basketball news section and new threads posted in the general board.
That's not a 'wrong' take imo.
He also got to this level of notoriety by being the bad/unwilling shooter he's always been. So that also isn't an incorrect take. The wrong take is that Simmons doesn't/shouldn't have to listen to criticism or improve his game just because he's reached a certain level of 'stardom/notoriety'
