I’m surprised they had the room under the tax for this. But hey, having Council available for the playoffs is a positive and I really like the kid’s chances to be a rotation player going forward.

Isn't that 4 year Deal basically a 3 year deal plus this years Playoffs?

Haven't paid any attention to Brooklyn lately, but I'd sit Embiid if Claxton is playing. That guy hates Embiid and it gets dirty when they go at it.

We’re not going on a Ricky Council victory tour. We’re trying to win a championship.

I love Ricky, and I just hope he can at least maintain the same intensity and continue his development. He should be the primary option to back-up Oubre or Tobias if they struggle

I have a feeling Nick Nurse will use him in the playoffs once things get physical. Both him and KJ Martin are going to see the floor. Especially if we play New York in the first round.

Definitely hope Council gets a chance to play in the Knicks series. If he is going to be a longterm piece for us, let him earn his stripes.

My gut feel is he’s scheduled to have one good playoff game similar to Maxey in 2022 or Danuel House in 2023.

I believe Council's ability to draw 8 free throw attempts per 36 minutes, coupled with his proficiency on both ends of the court, was the primary reason we chose him over a veteran player for the playoffs.

I would love to see a lineup of Maxey,Council,Oubre,Batum,Embiid once things get chippy and the defense tightens with the Knicks.

I would count on seeing a ton of crunch time Lowry in these playoffs. Nick is clearly very comfortable with Lowry on the floor.

Unfortunately, Nick Nurse appears to be locked into these 8 guys. Council is not getting an opportunity to contribute, even when guys are struggling.

He may have a bit of the Doc Rivers anti-rookie problem. Council should definitely be getting some minutes, especially considering Hield and Harris have both been disappearing.

Raptors fans always said Nurse didn't like young guys. I think we just didn't believe them because Rivers is even worse in that regard. I think this is pretty normal for Nurse and not surprising.

This is probably why Martin isn't playing either. Martin would seem to be a great player to use in this matchup, especially in the non-embiid minutes, for the gritty rebounding/defense.

We already know he can onball slash and draw fouls, run in transition, and attack closeouts. All he has to do is become a threat from beyond the arc and he'd be a rotation player that even has the ability to start.

If he does not put in the work, it's on him. But they said he is a hard worker, even Nurse praised him for that and it was in his scouting report.

His form is tough though. Him becoming a consistent outside shooter is not something I'm expecting. Pure knuckleball.
