With a lot of improvement Springer is a chance to have a Zhaire Smith type impact on the game........

Terq smith, different flavor of tyrese maxey type player.

Because Terquavion Smith will fill the 6 for 16 from the field spot.

With some improvement, Terq Smith can be close to being as good as Maxey.

They should rename the Sixers summer league team to “ The brick layers.”

I thought Ricky Council played well. Maybe a little passive, but he played well. Given his size and athleticism, I feel he's the best ticket for Nurse to invest in. If he can teach this guy how to shoot like he did with OG, we could have a find on our hands.

Springer still looks like an elite defender. Nothing has changed in that department.

For sure. Now if he can just learn to hit open 3's he's a valuable role player. Potential Bruce Brown type of impact.

Idk man OG played like a undersized 4 but his form on his shot has always been solid.
Council and Springer need to be locked in the gym with a shooting coach. Petrusev and Terq need to be locked in the gym room with a trainer.

Springer not dominating SL is a concern.

Not making excuses, but just firing away without a conscience is clearly not a natural part of Springer's game, and is something that Nurse can hopefully bring out in him.

What pisses me off to no end is the waste of two years of young players like Springer, Joe, Bassey, etc. with a coach who couldn't be bothered to spend time and really develop them.

It makes it all the more impressive what Maxey has been able to accomplish with such a shortsighted idiot coaching him, and what he might grow into now that we have an actual coach here.

saw this all last year from Springer on the Blue Coats, he's an incredible defender but looks like a 90s power forward offensively. If the kid could ever learn to shoot there's definitely a role for him as a lockdown specialist wing.

King could be a useful guy to keep around for 3/4 depth, he's not elite at anything but is very good all around at 6'8 - can handle and make plays, shoot, defends well and is a tough kid.

sucks that McClung isn't out there, he's better than everybody on this squad and could've been a solid combo guard depth piece this season. Can't see him getting a shot here with so many small guards on the roster already, though.

I will say that Springer had very good passes within the flow of the offense. I mean, he’s likely just a role player so my expectation of him taking 15-20 shots a game is ambitious. The problem remains with his three point shooting. If he could hit even 35%, I’d move Melton immediately.

I noticed the same thing. If he can get the shot down (or at least fire when he's open), I'm confident he won't kill offensive flow.

Even role players are supposed to dominate SL though

That’s fair. I’ll withhold my judgement until the end of SL.

Not a good showing from Filip Petrusev. We're kind of banking on this guy being our backup 5 this year, but I don't like what I've seen.
