yall gotta open yall third eyes yo
Biid paid his service to the almighty Adam Silver with the Team USA stint but during said stint he saw Cooper Flagg and was like hey Adam, get me that guy. The fines and stuff are just to keep the sent off the eventual David Robinson style tank job. Notice how it was the league that found out that Biid is "hurt". Biid let PG in on the scheme. Its all coming up Milhouse

The lowest recovery time I've seen on the web for a repair is 3-6 months. Some places list 6-9 months. It would be insane to have a repair and come back in less than 2 months.
That's my logic, maybe that's why he seemed so hampered by it. That he pushed himself to play regardless.
There's no way. No matter how irresponsible you think the team is, they wouldn't let him play that early after a repair.

Hopefully the dark ass cloud over this franchise as well.

Paul George was brought in as a trainer, similar to how Drew Hanlen worked with JoJo. It’s no surprise he was running stairs before the last game, likely prepping training drills for Cooper Flagg.

For Maxey to effectively run the offense, he needs fewer kamikaze drives where he can’t rely on getting the whistle, and instead focus on mid range shots (learn when to use which), which are trending in today’s game. Be at the painted area, draw attention from the help defense and then give time and let your teammates cut to the basket or relocate around the arc.

I honestly thought (or maybe hoped) that Maxey would have come in with more of a mid-range game added to his arsenal, based on how he has added skills every off season. He's getting little help from this group right now, but he just takes so many really difficult shots trying to get to the rim, it just appears that a mid-range pull-up could be an incredibly effective weapon. It's not as if he didn't show signs of having this shot last season.

I don't know about all this medical stuff (didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express), but if those recovery times for the type of surgery Embiid had in February are accurate, it is staggering that he would have been permitted to play in the Olympics. And to then extend him might be the most Sixers move ever, although there are so many it's difficult to rank them.

If you're referring to what I posted, I don't think there's any chance that was the type of surgery he had (precisely because the recovery times don't match what happened at all). I am almost certain he had the type of surgery that is often listed at 6-8 weeks recovery or less.

I don't think he's 100% correct. Most of the fanbase is not directing their anger towards Embiid. Certainly not here anyway. Most people are pissed at the communication from the team, including all the reporters who have grilled Nurse about it the past 2 weeks.
But also, he should be playing if he can. Sorry, but just because he's been a good sport in the past, it doesn't mean he's entitled to collect 50 million dollars, not play, and not expect any criticism for that.

When you build a team around injury prone guys, you don't get to use that as an excuse.
Regards to Embiid....Part of the reason he's been hurt a bunch is because he's been out of shape.

Re: Sixers 2024-25 Season Thread Part 1
Embiid I get, but there's no excuse for PG not to be playing. This has gone way beyond the point of absurdity. The dude was seen a couple days ago doing sprints and he's practicing in full. Get his ass back out on the court. A playoff berth is not a certainty for them if their players don't play. They're operating like they're owed and have a playoff spot on reserve waiting for them.
My frustration with this organization has gotten to the point to where if they fall to like 2-10 to start the season, I flat out hope they miss the playoffs. The Sixers treating the reg season like it means nothing should not have them rewarded with success. My Sixers fandom aside, it's antithetical to everything I love about sports. Some arrogant team coming along thinking they can just sit great players whenever they want and win and not care about anything but the playoffs is terrible for sports, it's terrible for competition, and as a sports fan in general, them being rewarded for it would be a really bad look.
You want to win a championship? Start operating like you do.

I agree, but as Stanford said,at least here the venom is toward the organization, not Embiid himself. If he's referring to that hack Marcus Hayes, how typical is it that he would write or say that and not show up to say it to Embiid personally. Man, I so hate the media.

Shams said Embiid started his workouts in the Bahamas and his knee had swelling in it and they're trying to get the swelling down.
This is basically verbatim what I speculated was going on a week or so ago.

I understand specifically being upset about people saying he doesn't want to play.
But the '"I've done X, Y, Z before and so I don't get criticism" is what's BS, Jo.
