I agree. I think Woodson is an alright coach but I'd rather see what many of the unknowns or even Doug Collins could do with this roster before hiring Mike Woodson.

I don't like him but the odds of Mike Brown hitting the unemployment line have to be pretty high. Any interest in him?

Any chance the postseason matters for the active assistants?

Celtics defensive performance this postseason doesn't effect Thibs chances I'm assuming, but could Majerle get hurt or helped by Phoenix versus the Lakers?

No other head coach would lead THAT roster to 53 wins. So Josh Smith/Al Horford/Marvin Williams isn't a front-court. It's a joke! It was the worst front-court by far in this year's eastern conference and it's one of the worst we've seen a "contender" pull out in some time. Can anyone tell me of a worse front-court?

Mike Woodson had this team, with no front-court, with limited support.(It was really the Johnson/Crawford show) to 53 wins!

Hire Mike Woodson damn it, that's overachieving in Larry Brown-esque level.

Funny thing is, watch Mike "I hug LeBrons nuts" Brown keep his job.

Am I missing something?

Al Horford (2010 East allstar) and Josh Smith (who is a stud) make up the worst front court? How about a Bogutless Bucks? Sight unseen, I don't think I can even tell you who their front court was. Hell, Miami, Charlotte, and Chicago can be arguments for having worse front courts.

The only Woodson I have any interest in is Rod...(best all around DB I've ever seen...biased opinion, but actually tough to dispute). At any rate, the Hawks played well, have a lot of talent (not sure where some are coming from there), and I don't think he should have been fired. They need to get a true center, move Horford to the PF spot, probably have to give up either Josh Smith or Williams, and move the other to the SF spot, and then they would be legitimate contenders. Love or hate Sammy, but put him at center for that team, and they are drastically better as they would be upgraded defensively and dominate the boards. Sammy/Al/Josh/JJ/Bibby is a solid starting 5, much better matchups than going smaller as they did this year.

Amen to that. I wouldn't want anything to do with Mike Brown either.

The more this drags on the more I wish Stefanski would hire either Collins or LB and be done with it. My choice after that would be Sam Mitchell. All three have done more with less talent that Woodson or (Mike) Brown..

Al Horford is the best of a miserable bunch. Weak-side shotblocks does not an NBA Power Forward make. Who is Josh Smith going to defend down low in the block? WHO? And Marvin Williams has vastly declined over the past 2 seasons.

Oh and enough of this stupidity of "Move Horford to the PF spot". Horford is a 5 or a 4. You can equally play him at either position. That's not their problem. The problem is the lack of a 2nd big and the expectation that Josh Smith is a 4. That's like saying LeBron's an all-team defender because of his highlight reel blocks. LeBron's a solid team defender, but he's not a first-class guy at that area.

They need a big that can score/defend well in the block. They also need a PG. Bibby's getting up there in age and can Teagues make the jump?

Would a gut wrenching game 7 loss tonight make Snider feel like firing someone?

I wouldn't mind hiring Mike Woodson. Josh Smith has an explosive personality and he kept him in check for years.

well looks like brown is out in cleavland...so im lookin at laimbeer...woodson..brown.....but sounds like they like collins...UGH!! gotta tell ya that doesnt surprise me..i like the cavs owner..willing to do whatever it takes to win...not our front office..! yes brown has #23...and woodson had alot of talent around him..so yes they should have won all those games..but i still like them and laimbeer over collins who has had chances and never won a damn thing..even with the other #23...

Yep, I'd have zero interest in Mike Brown. I just don't think he is a good coach.

freshie2 wrote:Chicago has a better core to build around than the Nets, although I do like Lopez + a high pick (say Wall or Turner). Star players win, and Rose is by far the biggest star in the Bulls/Nets discussion...pair him Lebron, and on any given night you have an edge on star power. Add Noah's length/energy, Deng and Hinrich are nice pieces around him as well as Gibson and Miller who give some decent depth inside. If he is looking for team success, that is a pretty easy choice.

I agree to a point since I think Rose is the best of the bunch of players on the two teams. But remember, NJN will probably get #1 or #2 & either Turner or Wall could be similar caliber players to Rose. Chicago has better & more expensive vets in Hinrich & Deng, though Devin Harris is underrated. I think Lopez is a better center than Noah. Other than that I like the young players that the Nets have & don't see how James Johnson & Gibson are better players than Lee, Yi, Williams, & CDR.

I wonder if Stefanski is only considering coaches that think they can win with the current roster and is writing off the coaches that think the team needs a major overhaul.

he has an asst. coach for offense and an asst. coach for defense, what the hell does he actually do to contribute to the team philosophy? Let alone he has Bron and a super talented team.

Agreed, Mike Brown is garbage and I don't want him anywhere near our team.

I'm watching Sportsnite and they are teasing that Dei Lynam has "major news" on the Sixers coaching front. Usually if it truly is major news, they lead off the show with it, but this is the Sixers after all and no one cares. But apparently Dei Lynam is saying that a specific candidate has emerged as the clear frontrunner for the job.

I'll post who it is when it comes on.
