So on both /r/lakers and /r/nba there are people vouching for this guy's sources. I know nothing about this guy, but figured I'd pass it along.

That would be really interesting. They would be really pushing the team all in the next 3 seasons if you are picking Horford over Tobi, but it gives you a guy that can start at the 4 and then rotate with Embiid to give you 48 great minutes at the 5, as well as allow Joel to sit back to backs. Maybe you sit each of them in opposite games on back to backs. I wouldnt necessarily hate it.

Would be cool if we had a guy like Shamet to slide in to his spot.

WTH why would we get Horford? I don't see him being an upgrade over Harris, and DEFINITELY NOT an upgrade versus Butler.

On 2nd thought, as long as we keep Butler I'm ok. Horford will likely be better value for the money than Harris. Plus he can provide the first legit backup we've had for Embiid when he sits.

We better keep everyone else though.

Depends on the price. If we get Horford for ~$20M/yr I'm good with it. Much better value than Tobias Harris at the MAX.

We better not lose Jimmy though!!!

No interest in Horford over Tobi.

If Redick and Tobi leave, can you imagine the spacing on this team?

Horford is a 33 year old role player with an Allstar price tag.

While it is easy to spend someone else’s money, I think this is the year you spend and run it back to hope to strike in a year with a chaotic offseason.

If it doesn’t work, you look to move people next summer. I think you could move Tobby for equal parts, Redick probably too.

Marc Stein said belief is he has a 4 year 100+ million offer ready from a team. The Sixers aren’t gonna sign a 33 year old to 4 years, I wouldn’t worry about that.

Brand probably sees himself in the situation and is telling Horford that Philly is a great place to be a broken down old chevy. I'm trying not to put too much stock in every random rumor but man it'd be nice to hear a rumor that I actually liked.

Lakers are looking for second rounders to fill out their roster.

Think we can offer some. What do we ask in return?

I would be just fine with Butler and Horford instead of Harris. If we can find another shooter or two in the draft, Harris becomes redundant, but having Horford to play alongside and spell Embiid is the kind of move that puts us over the top.

But certainly not for four years. Three for 60 max.

This Horford rumour is ridiculous especially if he wants a 4/100 type of contract. I dont think it makes sense for him either. At this age he is more of a 5 than a 4.

1) I would LOVE to see Horford|Embiid front court. And Horford is great C for minutes when JoJo sits (and for rest games).
2) If it's Harris replacement and Butler stays we'll be CRAZY good defensively. I want to see that.
3) If it's in place of Butler, it's not that good, I don't think we'd be good enough to win a title.

Just imagine the DEFENCE here:

Simmons
Butler
FA (someone like Ennis or Scott, who is passable on D and has size)
Horford
Embiid

And we'll have 3 guys who don't give a **** about stats (Butler, Ben, Horford) and are ok with the line like 12-8-8 when other players go off. Thats HUGE.
