Name another 3x all-star with no skills. Also make sure they are all-nba 2nd and all-defense 1st. Thanks.

Simmoms was all nba 3rd team with the least smount of votes and only made it on a positional technicality as Middleton had more votes than him.

So Simmons effectively should be a 0 time all nba player.

Besides bums like drummond and deandre made all nba before. Making it once isnt special. Even Siakam and Randle made 2nd team before something Ben has never done.

You conveniently forgot about the 3x all-star in 4 seasons. Be a hater all yiou want but admit the potential is there and has been shown/acknowledged.

Awseome to see the behind the scenes team footage. Great leadership and no ego's. Thybulle is going to come back a much better player.

I think Thybulle should be an eye opener to the NBA. He is objectively one of the greatest perimeter defenders in league history but in the modern NBA he can't really play more than marginal minutes because of his lack of shooting.

The league really needs to re-think how it officiates and think about moving the 3 pt line otherwise the product is going to become more and more unwatchable as it devolves into a shooting and PnR skills competition. They need to value diversity of skill in the analytics era.

It probably sounds like 76er fan sour grapes as we have three prodigious talents on the roster who would have been much more valuable 20-30 years ago than today but I believe there is a point.

Offense isn't the issue. Watching FIBA defense is always a good reminder that there is a different variation of the game that is just much better. Being able to body offensive players, no 3 seconds (maybe a middle ground b/w fiba and NBA?), and the different court dimensions are just better imo.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

He really is a special defensive talent. He doesn’t necessarily lock players up like Artest or Tony Allen did, but he is a playmaker. He is disruptive. Crashes with double teams. Blocks and turnovers. He can defend full court if needed. Prob the most enjoyable defensive player in years.

Was massive again for the Boomers in the QF. If he gets that 3pt shot he’s going to be massive for Philly!

That’s the whole ball of wax. If he can produce on the offensive end, he’s a starter.

He completely changed the game when he checked in halfway through the first. Just an incredible display of active and disruptive defense.

I believe and want Matisse to be the starting SF for Sixers for a long time. He can be DPOY for sure.

Well, he had 12 points yesterday, with 3-5 from the 3 point line. If he could score like that on a regular basis, he’d be in.

He's going to easily replace Danny Green. The only reason people would want more of Green over Thybulle is because he showed flashes of scoring 20+ in a game and either winning it or getting close to winning it. Lost in that argument is that we have to rely on a 3&D guard to generate offense because our team is so devoid of creators.

Thybulle has length and finishing ability to figure out a way to be a threat in the half court offense, likely as a screener. If the shot gets more consistent, then we have the best role player in the NBA.

We don't need him to do *anything* on offense except spam 3's ala Robert Covington at ~ 37%.

If he can give us that, he's the most valuable 3&D role player in the league.

Exactly. People were allured by Green playing random hero ball and thought that he was a "must keep" asset. He's a fine player, but I don't want him putting the ball on the court beyond three or four dribbles.
