Getting tired of him, if he still doesn't show any improvement we should trade him next offseason. Enough is enough.

We’re OK as long as he can get our shooters open looks. I think he (and Biid) is more comfortable with this role.
He just have to step up on defense. He isnt playing all NBA defensive team caliber now and I dont know if its because he is saving it up for the playoffs or something

Maybe he’ll lockdown a superstar, for a change.
But seriously, maybe he’s saving his back.

Simmons seems better defending guards thank like sized forwards - I'd prefer to see him on kemba > tatum or Lowry/FVV > Siakim.

Me too.. I think we should trade him. I get it, people are obsessed with Ben´s potential: if he developed his shooting he could be Lebron´s lite. The thing is, he´s not a shooter and will never be one. It´s not natural to him, he has no touch. How many times we were fooled by his shooting? It´s always the same thing: he shoots a 3 in a meaningless game, to give us hope, but doesnt shoot anymore in real games. He doesnt have a shooter´s mentality, it´s not natural to him.
And if he wont shoot, he isnt all that: he´s a great passer( for his size), but he´s not a a real pg( he doesnt breakdown a defense). Heck, i think lamar odom is way better than simmons. We gotta abandon the hope of what ben can be and accept what he is: an athletic forward that passes really well, but is probably the worst shooter in the league, and is not a good finisher . Besides that, he´s not a good free throw shooter. That is not enough to grant us a championship.
You can say that he will improve, but in 4 years in the league, his improvement has been minimal, you can even argue that he regressed: In his first year, he shot a lot of mid range jumpers, nowadays, he never shoots.
I think we should sell him fast, because he´s only losing value as the league will acknowledge that he will never develop. I´m not saying he cant be a great player, but he needs to be surounded by 4 great shooters to thrive. And we gotta chose Embiid, he´s a better talent( but will probably have a shorter window).
I would trade ben for Beal in a heartbeat, but i doubt the Wizards would. Heck, i would even trade ben simons for Lavine( you would have to toss other players to work because of the salary differences). Imagine a team with lavine, harris and embid? You trade horford to get a good pg and we are set. We need a closer, with killer instinct , and Lavine is clutch. We gotta bet all in Embiid, Simmons and embid dont fit well. We gotta abandon the ideia of what Ben can be, and sell fast so we can build a team that maximize Embiid´s talent.

Yeah, that's exactly what i been saying all season long. We need to trade him right now and get a haul for him, before everybody in the NBA realizes he will never learn to shoot and his potential is nearly a fantasy.
Plus, we can't keep waisting Embiids prime with a player who doesn't fit him at all in the halfcourt ofense. You can't win a championship that way.

Did you guys also noticed how Ben’s defenders sagging into the paint isnt that much of a problem unlike before? Either defenders have adjusted or we had find ways to punish them (ben hand off and ben as roll man)

How much better did we look in the third quarter against the Spurs after BS got his 5th foul? Right from our first half court possession without him clogging up the the high or low post, EVERYONE on the team was way more dangerous.
On top of that the defense lifted too.
Phans can complain about Coach BB or [LHM] Embiist if they like, but both of them have to "live" with No Jay Simpson, Our Freak.
EDIT : When he fouled out in the fourth I posted in the game thread that now we had a chance.

If we trade him we oughta aim high! I’m starting to think that if his potential is real, he won’t realize on this team. Lillard is the dream scenario IMO. If Portland fails to make the playoffs I imagine they’ll at least entertain the idea.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part IV
I'm no Ben apologist, and there's a good chance he never lives up to his "potential", but if you remember back to the start of this season, he was pretty awful for the first month or more then got much much better.
After a layoff that is just as long as an off-season, and an injury as well, its not surprising that he looks crappy. The WORST thing this team could do is trade him at his lowest value. If you do want to trade him, do it when he's fully healthy and playing to his current potential (how he was playing right before his injury).
Personally, I would like to see him play for a real coach before trading him for 50 cents on the dollar. Hopefully this off-season that new coach will be a reality.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part IV
The thing is, you cannot separate Ben from Brett. Most of Ben's issues come from Brett's coddling, and this is something many here don't realize. Simmons is a heck of a talent that is capable of way more than what he has shown so far, but due to his personality, needs some external force that pushes him to the limit. Brett is a yes man who is the opposite of that. Not only this, but Simmons is also not a good fit with Embiid, so it will never be ideal, you would just hope that talent overwhelms opponents in the case he reaches his potential.

Re: The Ben Simmons Megathread - Part IV
you fire Brett before making any decision on Ben.
That definitely lowers his value probably but IMO, that is worth the risk..... my biggest fear is that he figures it out elsewhere and Embiid decays instantly. And on the flipside, we trade Embiid, he gets in mega shape and never gets hurt again and Ben is still Ben-ing it up.
Eventually we will have to **** or get off the pot but our luck states that whatever choice we make it will be the wrong one lol.

I don't see any compelling reason to move Ben yet. I still don't really think he or Embiid are the problem and I have issues moving a 6'10 player who moves like a guard at this point in time.
I 100% agree with Mik that it probably makes more sense to pair Ben with a competent coach before moving on from him.

Pretty sure that's what's going to happen this summer. Brett leaves and another coach will give this team 1 more chance to see what it has in it.
If not succesfull, it's going to be a busy summer in 2021

Just fantastic to see Simmons launch the 3 with confidence against the Wizards. The fact it’s hardly being talked about is even better as it means we are starting to see it as part of his game
