Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
Does anyone trust Rivers to not run Harden's hamstring into goo by the post-season? Honestly Morey should be getting skewered more for his decision to stick with Rivers.
Maybe it's ownerships call to not want to pay him and another coach but this is GM malpractice IMO. You CANNOT play Harden these types of minutes.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
I think Doc is a goner. Team is stagnant as hell, giving poor effort consistently, rotations are a mess, etc. It looks to me like he’s already lost the locker room.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
I hate to see the team lose but I would rather them lose now, try to fix what is wrong as opposed to imploding half way through the season. Doc has to know if he can't right the ship soon he is gone. And there is still a lot of time to get things on track.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
If Doc gets fired, would you rather go with the internal candidate in Cassell or try to pry Udoka away from the C's?
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Bona/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Drummond/Broome

No one is touching Udoka right right now. My take is if Doc gets fired it will almost definitely be Cassell, but there's that D'Antoni rumor and who ever knows what Morey has up his sleeve.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
It will definitely be D'Antoni. I'm not sure if that's the right move as the defense is the bigger problem in that there appears to be no real plan on that side of the court.

I've never been a big "fire the coach" guy... But yeah, he's gotta go if they turn this around pretty much immediately.

Let's also lose Friday and have Glenn fired by this weekend, just in time for the horrors of Halloween to start and end on Monday. He's a horrific coach.

But it's possible that they're still not quite 'ready to win'. Glenn promised he'd let us know when the team reached that plateau.

Has to be an internal pick during the season. Bringing in someone from the outside who might want a whole new coaching staff and to implement an entirely different system is a little much to ask realistically.
Cassell is a guy who the team likes and respects, and hopefully wouldn't be hesitant to make drastic changes where necessary.

No chance of happening during the season.

Hmmm hold that thought. Just looked at the schedule the 76ers are about to go on a 4 game win streak.

Sixer viewership will go through the roof the first game.
NBC Sportsnet will simply take it as a thumbs up for Kate/Alaa.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
If I'm hiring the next coach I'm mandating he uses a two big Reed Embiid closing lineup as well as big minutes the rest of the game. If we want Maxey and Harden to play a lot together they should be with Reed and Embiid, especially in winning time.
I think Harden-Maxey-Tucker-Reed-Embiid is probably our best 5.

Re: The Official Fire Doc Rivers Thread
Joeger should run this team with a big frontcourt. Similar to Voegel or Carlisle.
The guy who I think could possibly replace him is MDA. But then.. can we push the pace with 3 slow guys with Harden, Tucker and Embiid?
