He's very odd in that nothing he does is that impressive and he isn't the smoothest looking player, but he just finds ways to make plays. Guys like that tend to hang around the league.

I don't buy Council's shooting at all. His form is bad, doesn't really get his lower body into it, and it's a knuckleball off his hands.

I really like his ability as an off the dribble playmaker and his special knack for initiating and absorbing contact. He's a foul drawing machine in the making. I hope I'm wrong about his shot because he's got sneaky all-star level potential if I am.

I was very surprised he didn't get drafted. It's funny because aside from Knecht, Judah Mintz and David Jones were the two players I saw the most of in college last season and they both end up on the SL roster.

It's possible that we're trying to make him stronger by adding muscle, which might be affecting his shooting. This reminds me of Kawhi Leonard last season when he shot poorly after gaining muscle during his time off. Eventually, he regained his shooting form and returned to his usual performance.

He’s been a Sixer all of a month; no way anything the org is doing could affect his shooting, other than giving him Markelle Fultz’s locker spot.

Most players improve on their 3-pt shooting from college to pro, unless their college numbers were small sample size flukes. Shooting is one of the more developable skills: it’s just our aberrant experience as Sixers fans causes us to forget it.

To me, it’s just not about whether McCain can develop and contribute at 23 in 3 years. Embiid will be walking with a cane by then. It’s whether da Silva would have given us quality minutes at the 4 spot now. If he would have, we screwed up.

If your metric is that short term, then you also have to compare De Silva to any vet that we can pick up in minimum contract with less commitment.

One bean sprout abusing a sapling bean sprout is "physicality?" GTFOH. Ware has talent; but he's way too skinny at this stage.

I never got the “too skinny” take for basketball. This isn’t football. Everybody said the same crap about Chet, he did just fine. Before that it was Durant and KG.

Allen Iverson was one of the most physical players in the game at 6'0 170 pounds.

Durant added 30+ lbs after college.

Garnett also added 30+.

Chet Holmgren is so "physical" OKC just overpaid to get a bigger body to play beside him just for the "softer" side I guess.

AI took a pounding, he didn't dish it out.

Durant and KG both weren’t 245lbs coming in to the NBA like Ware either.

Again, this ain’t football. It’s the soft ass NBA. Ware’s success or lack of it will have absolutely nothing to do with his weight.

I agree on the shooting, as for the ceiling… I appreciate the optimism!

What do we think RC4 needs to shoot from 3 to be a positive player this year?

Who do we think is wearing that Jordan Walsh mask? He doesn't look like a real guy. I'd constantly think there was some prank show filming if I was around him.

I don't see it with David Jones, he just seems too chaotic and out of control. Edwards is a kid with real potential to be a classic Morey steal in the draft.

Regarding McCain, it's really easy to doubt him based on much of what we've seen this summer, as he has clanged so many 3's and been out of control at times going to the rim. But that opening C&S corner 3 with the quick release is the tantalizing aspect he could bring in year one. It doesn't seem like the moment is too big for him at all, and the hope is that he can flourish in a more structured smaller role with the big group this fall.

Justin Edwards wasn't impressive the first few games, but I can squint and see a little something in him if they are patient. He's got a little Jabari Parker in him, except he isn't as confident.

I don't see Jabari who was a natural scorer. I see more Wilson chandler physically and play-style.

David Jones had a really good game
Showed a little bit of everything. He's an undersized Sf tho

Judah has game but not NBA material unless he adds range and improve as a decision maker.

Sidenote, I was hoping we could get Jordan Walsh (looks like a freakin alien) in that draft. He is a perfect wing for fit on this team, he is even developing his 3pt shot. Does all the little things, he has some Iggy in him. Of course the Celtics would charge us an arm, both legs, and probably our head too for him but his fit as a 3/4 spot would be great.

In limited mins, McCain is going to flash eventually. He can shoot so all we have to do is wait. I don't like his height for our team which brings the Knecht situation into question. Guess we will have to wait and see which one is better in an actual NBA game.

I do think that McCain can run our bench squad, something that Knecht could never do. Sure we have Lowry to do that also, but I look to McCain next February or so to be ready for this role.
