They can go double big just fine.

Rozier/Herro
Herro/Jaquez
Highsmith/Anderson
Adebayo/Jovic
Embiid/Ware

I think the teams to look out for RE Embiid are New Orleans, Minnesota, Miami, and Houston.

Believe my process brother. All it takes is one.

PHX makes sense but they have to drop below the 2nd apron as part of it. So a three teamer with BKN as they are the team with cap space to burn. Suns desperately need a C and have too many guards.

Truly a bummer that Embiid makes $0.5 mil more than Durant. Otherwise, there could be a nice 3-team trade there.

I honestly don’t see how a single team would trade for Embiid right now. Who in their right mind is willing to take on that financial responsibility without knowing if he’s actually capable of playing even 1/2 a season of basketball?

You can’t possibly think the Doctors don’t already know Embiid’s prognosis.
We the fans don’t know the doctors absolutely know.

I don't think the doctors absolutely know what Embiid's knee is going to be like 10 months from now, which is what matters.

Don’t agree at all. You’re talking like Joel’s knee is a car part or something…just bolt a new 1 on and you’re good to go.
This is 100% going to be a “cross your fingers and see how it goes” situation. A doctor can’t predict if a knee is going to swell in the future.

PG, EG, Council, and 3 to NOP
Trey, Grant, and 7 to PHI
McCollum to POR

Sixers would be hard capped at the 2nd apron, but that's completely manageable.

Maxey/Jakucionis/Butler
Grimes/McCain/Walker
Murphy/Oubre
Grant/Edwards/35
Drummond/Bona/(Embiid)

This is a lot of salary for a team that would absolutely stink!

Assuming no Embiid, they should be .500.

If on the 1% chance Embiid is right, that's easily a top 4 seed.

Post-draft trades:

1. Embiid for Kuminga (S&T)/Draymond/2027 GSW 1st (unp)/2032 GSW 1st (unp)

2. Oubre/Gordon/two 2nds for Jalen Smith

Maxey/McCain/Butler
Grimes/Edgecombe
George/Edwards/Council
Draymond/Kuminga/(#35)
Smith/Bona/Drummond

We'd be hard-capped at the 1st apron, so we would maybe have to find a taker for Drummond.

Embiid for Kuminga and Draymond?

Crazy enough it could work.

So the Warriors would give us a young talent and their glue guy - plus two unprotected (!) picks - for the right to be saddled with a crippled 280-lb. center who needs the ball to be remotely effective, on a four year max contract? I'm missing something here, like what's in it for them?

And the Rockets will give up a huge potential lottery pick talent for garbage and two seconds?

Don't trades have to at least make a little sense for the other team as well? Not every GM is Nico Harrison.

Jalen Smith is on the Bulls now.

I agree with your premise that neither of these trades are in the correct value parameters.

Sorry, my bad. Still, what's in it for the Bulls?

Jalen Smith is a huge potential lottery pick talent all of a sudden?

Brain cramp on my part - only on my first cup of coffee. I was thinking of Jalen Green.

The other team has to say yes, as well.

If I'm CHI, I'd rather keep Smith than let him go for two 2nds. Oubre and Gordon are merely salary filler and don't hold any value.

If the response is "I'm not paying more than that for a backup big man"... well, that's fair too. Although I think Smith might be able to be a starter.

All of that is to say maybe you can work it in with a trade down and send the Bulls a lower first?

As an example:

3 to BKN
Oubre, Gordon, 27 to CHI
Smith, 8, 19, 28 pick returned to PHI

You know, thinking about it... I wonder if the Bulls would be desperate enough for Embiid?

Smith, Vuc, P Williams, and lotto protected POR 1st for Embiid

That might be right on the fringe enough to get Morey's attention.
