Agree.

Drummond, Niang and Seth are great value acquisitions by Morey. Love it

Nets have two superstars our guys got a lot of minutes for us to gauge their capability to defend them 1v1.

Not superb or perfect. But I like what I saw from Niang, Reed and Henry on defense. They showed good footspeed and switchability.

For the first time in forever, I feel like the team is deep. Particularly, if Ben is playing.

I don't think we're that deep.

If anything, this game showed how we could be so much better with more volume shooting all around which has been the main issue with this team outside of that stupid period with Cov/Belinelli/Redick/Dario/Ilya shooting like they were on the Warriors.

Not that the Nets are a juggernaut defense, but stretching a bad defense leads to outcomes like the one of the first quarter. Joel had like 4 drives to the rim without opposition.

I like Mattise but some of the line ups with him, Maxey and Shake are never gonna work if at least two of team don't become effective volume shooters. Pairing Mattise, Drummond and Ben (if he plays) in any combination is gonna be a disaster. And i don't trust Doc enough to use Maxey as a slasher instead of a spot shooter like he used him sometimes last season

Losers are stressing out about the vibes but I think the vibes are great. Bill Simmons must be devastated.

That's an issue of fit, not depth. I think we have ~12 relatively effective players. However, I agree that ideally we would be able to move on from some of the players although Matisse isn't the first on my list.

Drummond looks good, but I predict his freethrow shooting is going to drive fans insane this year, even with all our experience with bad free throw shooting. Dwight and Simmons were pretty consistent 1 out of 2 guys: They usually hit the second after locking in on the first. Drummond’s form just has no consistency whatsoever.

Ohh sure, right now i would move Shake for a bag of chips. He's obviously a Doc fav too

I would not move Mattise yet. Specially while he's on a rookie contract, unless he's part of a Ben deal. I would resign him and then use that contract as a trade chip. He would be amazing around a player like Luka someone he can play off and use to clear lanes and drive to the rim, but i don't see it working here.

Shake, Ben and Tobias all are definitely before Matisse. Obviously, Tobias is untradeable. I think Matisse is fine as he is a wiling shooter even if he isn't particularly effective. He doesn't allow defenses too cheat and sag to far into the lane so I can live with him for a bit.

Korkmaz was impressive. I know it was just preseason, but I hope he maintains the confidence he showed last night. Need him to develop to truly be a useful piece in a playoff series.

I think the one thing we can count on is Korkmaz maintaining his confidence

Isn’t it funny how smooth the offense looks when you have to guard five guys on the floor! Lol

Joel will ave 30 this year without Benita.

This is basic basketball knowledge that I was thrown to the flames on r/Sixers for pointing out since 2018. Homerism is blinding.

The impressive thing about Korky is that he is only 24.
He seems to be in the League in forever

He unfortunately never showed up in the playoffs, but who knows, this can still change...

Aaron Henry. What do u guys know about him? I think he has good chance to be a solid 3&D guy. A lot depends on his shooting and he has good foundation with it.

Watched the Nets game over again. Nets’ defense was kind of soft this allows Korky to do what he does, but im not disrespecting the korklord’s godly handles.

Drummond or Paul Reed should improve tightening their handles and lowering their TOs with those playmaking and DHOs from the top of the key. Or we should just strictly dont let them receive the ball outside the paint.

The foundation upon him being selected was extremely sound, but he is a bit slow footed and his shot is probably not going to translate which is imperative for him to survive in this league.

I did like that he could show the ability to carry his Mich State team a bit last year, but I think he's a G-League guy. Would rather pick up Myles Powell and put him on the 2-way contract.
