Outside of Graham and Paul that list is short on players that would make the Sixers better.

Simmons is expected to meet with the organization’s leadership starting Tuesday at the team’s practice facility, sources said. That will be telltale for the organization to begin to discover whether there’s an opening to convince Simmons that a reconciliation is possible — or whether Simmons’ return is simply what’s needed to get the kind of trade that the Sixers want to stay contenders around All-NBA center Joel Embiid.

Thank you for your concern. As something like ~10% of my post was actually capitalized, I really don't see the problem but thank you. Who are you again, btw?

Make no mistake, Simmons has no interest in rejoining the team or being here more than a few weeks. That said, the monetary incentives are too strong to continue the ill-conceived holdout.

Now it's up to him to decide whether to play the good soldier to achieve his objective to get out of town ASAP or whether he will do the absolute bare minimum to earn his pay and drag this out to the deadline (or further). What he should do given his desires is clear, what he will do considering his management and ego is unclear.

What's clear is Morey is showing all parties who has the hammer.

Neither side wants a re-integration. It's public posturing by Morey to get a deal to his liking and good press/marketing for Klutch to point to future clients when they can claim after the trade that they got a client out of an unwanted situation with 4 years left on his deal (notwithstanding that they actually botched the entire thing).

I don't care if Ben has had a complete change of heart and only wants to be a Sixer for life, I'm still looking to trade him. He's 100% right in that the fit on the court doesn't work between him and Joel.

All about the Benjamin's (pun intended). This guy drug us through the mud the entire offseason. All bridges have burned.

It would take firing Clutch and playing at a MIP level while shooting 70% from the stripe for the city to collectively consider supporting him going forward. Neither of which are realistic and I'm sure Morey remains actively in pursuit of the right deal.

Just saw SAS say that Morey is trying to use the combination of Simmons situation and Kyrie Irving situation to get Harden. The Nets announced that until he gets vaccinated, he can't play or practice whatsoever, he can't be a part-time player (and I didn't see any mention of his PAY in this matter- last year, when he would just not feel like playing, he still got paid...)

I would have no problem with that if it was straight-up - but if they want the same type of trade they gave out, all those ridiculous picks and pick-swaps, I would not be down with that.

But it's a fascinating combination of situations. SAS said they'd absolutely love it if Irving retired - they're sick of his stuff and probably can't trade him because teams believe he would in fact retire, and they'd be screwed on the compensation. But that apparently makes Harden consider the possibility of wanting out, and Morey wants him, and SAS said he knows this all for a fact.

Related to the topic imho.

Until Harden won't sign his extention, he is on the Morey's market.

Thank to the flat-earther and no-vax Kyrie of course

How in the world could Morey get cap space next offseason? He'd have to trade the whole team for nothing

I'm telling you, send Harris and some sort of protected 1st for Kyrie. No lose situation at that price. Retires? Massive win. Cleared Tobias for nothing. If he tries to hang out for two years, just start fining him too until he agrees to a buyout where he gives back a ton of cash to be a FA. Or maybe he feels like playing, in which case you just grabbed a star PG for nothing.

BUT... if BKN wants to trade Harden for Ben, that works for me. I don't see them doing that under any circumstances, though.

Brooklyn's superteam imploding into Simmons being sent there only to pull the same stuff in the Playoffs and hinder KD's quest for his first championship would be the delivered karma of epic proportion we've waited for since 2016.

I can't even make sense of the SAS theory. I will play along and say they are sick of Irving's BS, although I would guess that KD (and apparently Harden) would have something to say about that.

Why would Irving retiring make Harden want to ask out? They would still be a great team.

How long until the rumor comes out that Durant is getting fed up and is potentially available for Ben?

Then an hour later, Kyrie gets vaccinated and the Nets obliterate the East.

Why would the Nets trade Harden if the problem is Kyrie?

No he’s saying Harden might want out now.

James harden and Kevin Durant are good but besides that the rest of the roster is basically hot garbage.

The question is not what the Nets would want but what Harden wants. He has a PO this summer.

I think he is having at least a second thought about re-signing with the Nets and the awkward situation with irving for sure doesn't' help the Brooklyn's desires.

If Irving leaves, they're still a really good team. Why would he want out?
