I do think that McCain can run our bench squad, something that Knecht could never do. Sure we have Lowry to do that also, but I look to McCain next February or so to be ready for this role.

People might be forgetting that McCains biggest sell wasn’t really his shooting, wasn’t drafted just as a short sniper. The other key was how much of a gamer he was, how he always made smart plays at the right moments and was always poised and sharp when he needed to be. Both HS and college that was his rep. We didn’t get to see too much of that since the Sixers SL offense was a parody and since the games didn’t really matter, but I think we might be surprised at how he plays in 2nd units as the leader. Or at least we should plan on that being a key part of his game, even if he’s not great at it right away. A decent nba version of him is definitely not just a Seth Curry type.
