Intriguing in some regards even (though I love Maxey), but scary as well. Like what if the Suns show an interest for Durant? I could definitely see Morey wanting to make that kind of move.

This team would stink with or without Durant. And he is wrapping up his career. He will be 37 before next a season. I would be disgusted if he made a trade like that.

Personally, I think we should re-sign Grimes and see how things look with a healthy roster and a top 5 draft pick next October.

It's just not in Morey's personality to trade a player like Maxey.

I'm down to trade Maxey if the price is right. Which does not include a 37 year old Durant. Making win-now moves based upon a hypothetical healthy Embiid and PG would be the height of idiocy.

they should be working on convincing both Embiid and Paul George to retire medically. This would clear our cap, the players would continue receiving their money (probably covered by insurance) and after a period of time, they would be eligible to sign with another team after healing.

Re-sign Yabu, and next year put Maxey/McCain/Grimes/Yabu/ into the starting lineup to start a youth movement.

That trade makes no sense at all, Morey should be fired if he trades Maxey for Durant.

This season is showing KD it's on his last legs as a Superstar, he's not a floor raiser anymore.

At this point he's a cherry on top kind of of Star, he makes sense for a OKC or Warriors now with Jimmy, not in a mess of a team/organization like us.

Look, I’m not advocating for Durant. But Morey has shown he will do whatever it takes to extend the championship window. McCain, Grimes, PG, Durant, Embiid is a more formidable lineup than whatever we put out next year with Maxey. I’m fine with riding with the young guys, or going after a young F if trading Maxey is necessary. I just know Morey isn’t interested in a youth movement.

On the contrary, I believe Morey is and has embraced a youth movement. Grimes, Maxey, McCain, Council, Edwards, Bona, Hood-Schifino, Butler, Brissett...He really needs to keep these 9 players plus the draft pick.

Would hate to see the FO trade Maxey for Durant. But, If they lose their pick this year I think trading Maxey for several high picks and then tanking hard next year is arguably the best path.

This “youth movement” is because the bottom has fallen out with Embiid, PG, and Maxey injuries completely derailing the season at various times this year. If they all were healthy along with Caleb, we wouldn’t see Grimes, Brissett, Hood-Schifino, Butler and Edwards, Council, and Bona would never play. It’s happening due to necessity.

Yeah thats the benefit:
I'd be fine with a roster of

Maxey/Butler
Grimes/McCain/hood-S
PG/Edwards/council
X/brissett
Embiid/X/Bona

Need a Power Forward and a capable 5.

Dont need Drummond and oubre (good, but too bad of a shooter) and should have traded yabusele (though i like him).

Would Love aldama or eason as an option

I agree buy if we are going with a semi youth movement and getting rid of oubre and yabu, why keep PG?

Nice thought but realistically Embiid could maybe do that after next season if things go horribly for him, and PG has no path to that now. Having some nagging little injuries make you miss half a season doesn’t lend itself to medical retirement.

Morey’s probably going to hedge and work on two timelines until Embiid and PG’s health is clear. He can’t bail on them yet and will prime the team for a run in the case they’re healthy this time next year—and he’ll try to gather up some younger guys and value pieces in case there’s bad health and we need to rebuild.

Not great.

Agree. Trading Maxey for multiple high picks is the only way I'd be okay with moving him.

Any move made with the idea of presuming a healthy Embiid and George should be a fireable offense.

Why would PG medically retire? He has a very manageable injury and could probably return if there was any reason to this season.

OKC with the Machiavellian move of sitting their shot creators to try to tank this game. Gotta give credit, that’s cold.

Hope OKC has to eat a massive fine for sitting out their guys trying to steal a pick rather than clinch a one seed for the playoffs.
