Chris Sheridan got kicked off of ESPN for being a hack.

He pretty recently wrote and article that more or less hinted he'd like to **** Glen Taylor's wife.

Dude is a hasbeen at best right now. If you wish to die on that hill then by all means have fun.

Hey, any idea if Chris Sheridan or Rob Tornoe get paid for writing articles? Are they incentivized to drive traffic to a website by having controversial opinions? Or does that only matter when the media person is pro Hinkie? Please advise.

You don't have to apologize. Just stop with the "you've got a problem that's a lot deeper than basketball." Seems like that is projecting some insecurity there. We're arguing about how to guage the popularity of a sixer GM who resigned. Let's keep that in perspective.

No, at this point you are defending that Chris Sheridan is a legitimate respected NBA analyst because you want it to be so to suit an agenda. Its a horrible tangential position. Trying to obscure from that is missing the point. You have jumped the train. Which is funny with all the comments about 'cults'.

You don't like Sheridan. I can find others. When Hinkie's letter hit, it seemed like the whole world was looking away in embarrassment for him. He didn't seem like Mr. Popularity that day. Now there are a lot of people who like him. But I think some of them may be a little red in the face about how he left and have some angst about that.

At this point we've been arguing for two days about whether Hinkie was popular and how to guage that. I think I'm going to let it go. this argument has degenerated. But I don't concede that ive "jumped the train" . . . (Is that a Boston saying?)

You're welcome to have the last word and use an ellipsis or eye role to suggest I'm an idiot.

No to Jeff Teague btw.

This 'Hinkie cult' narrative requires a pretty significant lack of awareness. Articles (if this can even be called an article) like this don't take into account just how **** dumb being devoted to a sports franchise is in the first place. Grown men routinely paint the entirety of their exposed flesh in team colors as a way of affecting the outcome of a game they're not participating in. If the team loses, their day/week/month is ruined. If the team wins, they celebrate as if they had something to do with it.

Team fandom is **** stupid. Just ask someone who doesn't like sports. They think we're all nuts.

It's especially funny coming from someone who has a job covering sports. His livelihood is literally based on people caring too much about this crap when they are not doing other things with their lives.

I don't understand this comment. I'm not sure what analysts have good reps in your opinion. Is there a philly.com poll I should look at to establish an analyst's popularity? What makes ESPN insider dude such an authority? Nevermind. It isn't worth the time.

You lost. Give it up man.

In who's opinion?

Just about everyone's. You're clearly on the wrong side here. Seriously, stop fighting a losing battle. Quit while you're behind.

This is your what third totally off topic comment about Boston? At this point I cannot help but think less of your (lack of) arguments based upon your inability to not be so easily distracted.

So far we have thousands of fans cheering for Hinke, we have polls on philly.com, tom moore's reporting and Derek Bodner all saying the same thing, and we have well respected national NBA pundits saying Philly downgraded.

On the other hand, there is Chris Sheridan, and look, a Boston logo...

Wait, people read Sheridan seriously? I thought people read him like he wrote everything in a white Stephen A. Smith voice.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

problem with the Noel for Teague deal is, the latter is a unrestricted free agent and Philly cant end up nothing for Noel or whom ever you trade for. Usually free agents wants to play for a winning team.

It's definitely all a hoax. Sam is still in charge.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

If that's the point of the last word, your own words have had that covered for a while now.

I strongly assume that Hinkie's contract goes until June 30th, and while he may no longer work for the team, the team can block him from doing anything with another team.

Wouldn't surprise me to hear talk of him going back to Houston or another team once July 1st hits, but it should be quiet until then.

But, I am flattered nonetheless. Thanks for the mentions.

Yes. As are the cesspool of quotes in this thread from you lol...and i hate to break it to ya buddy, but just about every poster here has given you legitimate rebuttals to your revisionist and contrarian views. No offense, but i'm glad you (and most ppl here) arent CEOs of a b-ball organization.

Would you trade noel for Teague on a 26, 18, 18 ,18 deal? Teague at 18 with the cap going up looks great for next summer

I still think Atlanta would have to throw in the 21st pick plus Minnesota's protected pick which someone said they owned for Noel and Covington. Plus it would have to wait until draft day to see whether or not the player we like is there at #21 or we get a better offer for Noel (#6 from NOH or Brandon Knight and #13 from Phoenix)
Either way there has to be more involved unless Junior has a crystal ball and Teague turns into the next Kyle Lowry and Noel into Robin Lopez

The Minnesota pick is 1-14 protected in 18', 19' and 20'. No big deal since the Wolves should be pretty good.

If I could get Teague at 26,18,18,18
26 being a restructure of this year. Along with Atlanta 2017 top 3 protected and 21 for Noel and 26 I might just do it.

As I understand the CBA rules, that structure - 26, 18, 18, 18 - cannot be done. Yearly salary can only increase a maximum of X% per year. I think X = 7.5%. Conversely yearly salary can decrease a maximum of X% per year.

I'm fuzzy on X = 7.5%, but I know for sure it isn't 30%+ which is the decrease from 26 to 18.

I've always wondered why more contracts weren't front loaded and then I discovered this rule.
