And if true that the Celtics are offering the overrated, poor man’s version of IT a maxish contract I can confidently say the Celtics window has officially closed.

Yup. And the maturity levels of the players is that of an entitled, bratty AAU teenager, as well.

Kemba Walker is a better player than IT was. He can basically replace what Kyrie brought them and will buy into the team concept better.

The real reason their window is closed is because they are losing their best player in Al Horford.

Walker, Tatum and Hayward is a legit trio, at full capacity.

Walker is very underrated. He is better than Irving.

Kemba is very good. Despite Woj's report I'd be STUNNED if he went to the Celtics. It's just not going to happen. It makes sense on no level. Not financially or to win. If Charlotte doesn't give him the money he could easily go to the Lakers.

ANYBODY that gives a 30 year old, 5'11, Kemba Walker the max, has closed their window.

Hayward is a shell of his former self. He’s not getting back there, although he can still get hot shooting from 3. Glorified Korver on a max deal is called negative value.

Be careful what you wish for. Kemba is one of the better closers in the game and the Celtics have a lot of complimentary talent.

Are we supposed to believe that LeBron hasn't cut AD a check, on the downlow, for all the contract money he waived? This appears to be pretty blatant cap circumvention.

Dude, it's not even on the down low.

That Snake won't do anything about it. He's probably ecstatic how everything is going down to bring the Lakers back to prominence.

In his mind, he already did something about it. Fined Magic. And now he will just go back to his 1930’s horror films.

LOL. his numbers are nowhere in the same ballpark as Irving. And he’s older and somehow worse defensively. Of course you love Deangelo so I’m not surprised at your assessment.

If you are guaranteed to be paid for $40m. What’s better between playing 16-30games more and risk an injury in order to win a championship or just sitting out a season to spend that $40m in a nice weather place?

NBA should give more incentives to winning a championship to balance out the ridiculous amount of salary, unless they look to lower the salary which i dont think will happen. If you dont get my point think of it on superlatives like do you still value winning a championship if you are paid a billion dollars per year? This is why you watch a lot of garbage basketball in regular season, which for me is unfair for teams and the fans.

NBA should also punish like a year ban if a player wants out of his contract or is playing like he wants out of his contract (thru investigation like tampering). It’s unfair to invest on a player, build a team, then that player would ask out.

Good call.

You know another way to circumvent the cap, aside from the charities “player x foundation” are TV time like commercials. i have a feeling the spurs have been doing it.

He can’t because its gonna be a league wide investigation and its gonna tear down the organization. Several teams have done these “under the table” compensation.

Teams aren’t just limited to the cap. It’s just an illusionary guide.

Maybe its just me..

Whenever an underdog became a champion, it’s usually a big thing. I can remember how crazy it was for Dirk back then to beat the Heatles.

Is it just me or the Raps winning the championship was a “ho-hum” moment?

Like sure Raps won it. But there weren’t any dramatic moments like dirk’s one legged fade away in the clutch and the competition was really “meh” with klay and kd being out with injuries.
