Agreed, you guys all expected Morey to work magic. Can't do much with the crap we had. He's making the best of the situation by shedding **** contracts and players that don't fit with good fits. All of those contracts are short, and cheap too.

It's because we've spent an ungodly amount of assets to pretty much end up back where we were three years ago.

No doubt, but as someone else has mentioned that's not on the current decision-maker. I get that in a vacuum JRich is a better all-round player but if you look at this wholistically this gives us a better shot at a title.

On the flip side, they lost 2 NBA quality starters (regardless of their fit), a future 1st, and didn't use either of the early 2nds.

Aren't these trade exceptions that can be used in future trades? Why are people complaining? Two deals and both addressed needs.

All we have to do is take Riller at 49 and I'll be cool with Daryl

I like the trade. I hoped Josh had more value, but he was a pretty bad fit, so Seth will have to do.

Green started for two championship winning teams breh.

that negates everything so there.

The Spurs have way too many guards. There's got to be a trade in there somewhere.

Green and Seth should open up things for both Jo and Ben. The D has to respect them at least .

I agree. overall a good night. I think the main people complaining about the Jrich thing is because A) they were hoping to get more value for him like packaged in a Lavine deal, which I imagine would've gone down if the opportunity was there and was out of Morey's control. And B) don't like we gave up a piece of value. Obviously material, but we don't have that many guys left to roster and Morey probably believes the surplus value of 36 over a late second/undrafted guy is worth less than switching Jrich into a better fitting piece and going all in on shooting

Two Questions

1. What players are fitting in an $8 million exception and a $2 million exception?
2. What assets are we trading for these difference makers making so little?

Being on short contracts is not a good thing when you have no viable means of replacing them.

The angst is because Josh Richardson was the prize for letting Jimmy freaking Butler go. He was sold to us as a young talent that could do a lot of the things Butler did.

Now we have to dump him and add a pick to get back a bench player. Just more evidence of the total idiocy and incompetence of the last several years.
