I really don't think the Sixers will use the full MLE because they don't believe there's anybody out there worthy of it. Unless there's a sign-and-trade for Miller that brings a point guard, I believe the Sixers will add a minimum-salary 1, 3 and 5, and that's it.

Well there are guys like Felton and Sessions, but they would require multi-year, full MLE deals. But there's absolutely no reason not to offer some other guys 1 year, partial MLE deals. Anyone we get for the minimum won't even be worth playing. Even if all our 10 players on roster will be in the rotation, there's nothing wrong with trying to add some half decent players that could give us more options out there.

Do stop with the Royal Ivey comparisons. The Scrapple were terrible. But so were CDR and T-Will. in 2-3 years, they both will be out of the league or role players.

I think once the business end totally hits the fan, and it is headed that way right now in a hurry; then they will look to sell the team. That is why I gave it a 3 year window.

The Sixers committed nearly $200mio in contracts last year. I don't think you can call that apathetic. You can question whether the money was spent on the right players, but the financial commitment seems to be there.

I think last season was a little glimpse of hope they had that quickly faded fast, and the hope didn't fade when Brand got hurt either. The hope faded once opening day came around and they still couldn't draw fans, even with their prized acquisition.

But I compare it to kinda like a relationship. You know the relationship isn't going well. You aren't having sex, you aren't talking much, it kinda becomes the status quo and a big chore. Then one day your husband/wife comes home and is surprisingly passionate and really into you all of a sudden. So you go out for a really nice dinner and maybe get laid that night... only to find out a couple weeks later that they are cheating on you and only did that out of guilt. Then it is back to square one.

I think last year was the organization's last hurrah so to speak. Again, this is based totally on just a hunch from what I gather from watching press conferences, interviews and the fact that they tried to sell the team before. I could very well see the team sold in the next few years if they can find a buyer.

Interesting analogy. My wife comnes back from a trip tonight. If she suggests we go out to dinner, I'm not sure how I'll react. ;)

That was what those GHEY Summer league broadcasters referred to our 0-5 crappy summer league team.

Hear the Sixers may have checked into PG Jason Williams, who took last year off after playing with the Heat, but doesn't sound like anything serious. He's 34 and runs a team well.

Jason Williams is one of the few guys that I would continue to root against even if he were on my team. Hate that guy.

WOW! That is exciting news.

I think the last memorable play he made may have been the behind the back pass off his elbow in the rookie-sophmore game.

Oh wait, that was like 12 years ago.

I have about 10-15 guys in the NBA right now that I couldn't root for even on my team. In a league with hundreds of players I don't think the ratio is that bad.

Wow..

So this squad is not spending any money on the FAs and in this year's Vegas Summer league?

Might as well trade the whole roster for expirings.

All the min salary guys aren't that good and the young guys will hopefully get most of the minutes anyway. If they sixers sign min guys that should be able to do at least one thing decent. Willams doesn't seem that bad, he can run an offense and and is a decent three point shooter. A guy like Hollins could be a hustle guy who can block a few shots. Maybe an undrafted guy like Paul Harris could be signed for the minimim also. He not too tall but he is very strong and has long arms so maybe he could play some decent defense.

Indy Star says Miller could be an option if the Pacers don't match the Raptors' offer sheet for Jarrett Jack. Indy only has $5.2 mill to spend on free agents -- less than the $5.85 MLE -- so it'd probably have to be a sign-and-trade. Not sure what the Sixers would want in a situation like that.

Interesting on Indy...didn't Miller come out today and say something about s/t deals in the works?? I was cooking on the grill when they were talking about Miller, so I may have misheard.
