Jo-Jo is not the MVP of this league. Not yet. He absolutely has MVP-level talent, but he is only a rookie. Perhaps after the 2020-21 season he can hoist an MVP award.

He is however a legitimate All-Star now.

Anyone know if Embiid is with the team for tonight's game? I know he isn't playing.

Per his IG Simmons traveled with the team. Assume Embiid did as well not sure.

I'm debating to buy these seats at $400 a piece, right next to the bench. Might be worth it if I can chit chat with Embiid all night.

Only young big with a positive net rating, team is disgusting without him.

That drummond split is pretty wild, almost as big of a split as Jo but the opposite.

That's who Jalen Rose referred to as the best Center in the East when they were talking about Embiid.

It also makes me laugh at all the TWolves fans who argue KAT is so much better than Embiid.

Jaylen is an idiot then. Drummond isn't actually good at defense.

I mean Jalen has probably watched less than 3 sixers games all year there's no way he has an informed opinion on this.

It really is incredible.

What was the last rookie to have that kind of impact? I mean that is an honest question.

I seriously doubt even people like Lebron had that kind of impact right away. Did Duncan?

Big elite rim protectors are like running backs in football a bit in that they can come into the league and produce from day one. I would have to imagine that the last rookie to have that kind of impact was a 4 year college player, and/or another elite rim protector.

If Duncan didn't do it(he had Robinson coming back his rookie year anyway) then you would have to go back to Shaq, Mourning, and Mutombo.

Did Ewing do it?

Here are some ratings for Embiid under different scenarios since Dec 1 (O= points scored per 100 possessions, D = points allowed per 100 possessions)

Embiid on court:
O: 109.2
D: 103.2
Net: 6.0

Embiid off court:
O: 100.1
D: 109.7
net: -9.6

Embiid on, Okafor off:
O: 111.5
D: 99.2
Net: 12.3

Okafor on, Embiid off:
O: 100.2
D: 108.8
Net:-8.6

Embiid on, Okafor on:
O: 97.6
D: 123.0
net: -25.4

So just simply putting Embiid on and Okafor off results in us playing at the level of a playoff level team for the 28 mpg he is allowed. Of course, we are a scrub team without him and one of the worst teams in the league when we put both Okafor and Embiid on the court together.

Chris Paul really changed everything in New Orleans his rookie year.
