Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
I think this team needs a stud scoring wing more than anything. I think you need a go to guy that can take someone off the dribble, but also go outside and knock down 3's.
I may be in the minority, but I'm just not a Turner fan. I'm hoping some team out there really likes him and is willing to give up a player of need in a deal for him. I just loathe watching players that can't shoot.

Next person that says trading for Tyreke Evans would be a good move gets banned on sight. True story.

He's a clown that goes 1 on 5 every other possession. He defends sporadically. He has an off-putting attitude (much like Ev). He's needs the ball in his hands to be useful on the court but isn't good enough to warrant the touches. He's the opposite of what Collins likes in players.
Then again, let's bring him in. And then we can sign Nick Young too. And maybe work out a trade for Beasley. I remember my first time playing NBA 2k.

Splitter and Blair are PF/C who could be added to a deal, both finish well around the rim in pick and roll sets but don't shoot it well
I don't know exactly how those guys are viewed around the league, clearly they aren't stars but Neal and Blair are very cheap salary-wise and Bonner and Splitter, while both completely different, are role players who can easily give you 25 - 30 mins/night
Is that kind of deal even close? Something like Blair + Neal + Bonner for #15.
No, not close. The Sixers need to give up some quantity for quality, not the other way around. Splitter's the only one of those guys who got much burn n the playoffs, and IIRC not much in the last series. If the 6ers make a trade like that I'll spam them for all eternity with "nice effort good job" emails.

Maybe if Splitter is involved in the deal for 15? Splitter/Neal not Blair/Neal.

If you need outside shooting, Neal is quality. He is an excellent spot up shooter and can shoot off the dribble. He doesn't put up huge numbers beause we have such a deep rotation so he doesn't get heavy minutes, but he is efficient.
It's hard to guage Neal by the playoffs because he's a 2 but he's had to play as backup point guard since TJ Ford retired. His minutes only decreased because Parker obviosuly played more and Ginobili/Green was our 2-guard rotation.
The thing with giving up Splitter is that the Spurs need size, so giving him up would mean we'd have to get a better 7 footer with the 15 so I'm not sure why the Sixers do that deal.
Also, please take Bonner. Please.

I've seen him play a ton of times and I hate his game. He is a high volume low percentage shooter that pouts.

I don't want Tyreke. He averaged 20pts in rookie season because he had the ball on every possession. If Turner were in such situation he would get similar stats.
Also, if you hate Turner for not being able to shoot, then good luck with Tyreke. According to basketball-reference, Tyreke shot 30.9%, 30.0% and 26.4% on jumpshots in his 3 seasons (Turner 37.1%, 36.8%).
And Tyreke's teammates seem to hate him too. As Nocioni called him out and said he is a problem in locker room.

Cousins hit Donte Greene just because Tyreke missed a bad shot. (Although I assume the silent last e played some part)

So Memphis has no plans to trade Gay. Wonder if that means the Sixers are going to get more aggressive in their Iggy offers, asking for more since Iggy is at the top of the market for the SF teams want now.

they are like the same in every regard... size, style everything
Tyreke is the far more explosive athlete while ET has better vision and has that freaky rebounding thing... but only in the defensive end.

With the exception of rebounding, what does Turner do that is actually better that Evans on the basketball court?
FG% Evans
3pt% Evans (Though they both stink)
AST/TO ratio Evans
PPG Evans
FT% Evans
PER Evans
TS Evans
Court Vision Turner
Rebounding Turner ( Evans is no slouch rebounder)
I am admittedly of the contingency that believe that Turner is a bust, I do however try my best to remain objective and hope he succeeds. However, based on how he had every opportunity in the world during the entire playoffs to exhibit what he could do and failed miserably, I don't see how this wouldn't be an amazing bailout of a deal for the Sixers. My main problems with Turner is as follows, he cant shoot from anywhere on the court, his amazing ball handling skills are useless because he cant turn the corner on his defender, though he attempted to turn up his aggression level by penetrating he finishes horribly or his non athleticism causes his shot to be blocked, when does get to the free throw line he shoots a poor percentage.
I do agree that Turner and Evan have the same ball dominating types of game. The difference is that one is productive with that style of play and the other is not, while being a year older. I would be estatic if a Turner/Evans deal went through.

I'm one of the biggest turner fans in the country.Tyreek Evans would be an upgrade in talent.i would even attemrt sell him on a 6th man role for a playoff team. For Evans to flourish two of iggy jrue lou and turner would have to be moved
Jrue tyreek
Beal(get creative move up for shooter)
Iggy. Thad
Brand lavoy
Vuc.

Philly is still building a core. Guys like Neal, Splitter, & Blair while nice role players don't do much to get us there.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
While I am as disappointed with how Turner played for most of the playoffs, I still believe he took a major step forward overall, and am VERY hesitant to give the guy away...as some people seem to be willing to do. I will be honest enough to admit that I do not have a TON of knowledge about Evans' game, but at this point I view a Turner-for-Evans swap as little more than a lateral move...with more concerns about how Evans would fit should we trade for him than concerns about Turner (assuming we have FINALLY stopped with the yo-yo with his minutes). In addition to being a better rebounder and having better court vision, I do think that Turner has a better chance of replacing Iguodala's wing defense in the event we trade Iggy. While it may seem like a risk to believe that Turner's offensive game will take another step forward next season, if we can get REAL value for Iguodala, I am prepared to take that risk.

Re: SixerFan1976 Offseason Thread
If doing a deal for reke, our FO would really have to do their homework. He's basically Turner, but a more explosive athlete, worse rebounder and more aggressive in scoring.
Honestly, if ET was given the reigns and green light to do what Evans does....he would likely put up similar numbers( more boards ).
I'd be open to a deal tho.

I don't know man...Tyreke Evans for Evan Turner? Thats a tough pill to swallow but if Evans could get his ish together i'd do it. Thing is Evans is kind of the anti Doug Collins type of player. He's not nearly the defender that Turner is but I think he's the better offensive player. Still...Give Turner 20 shots a night and he'll average close to the same as Evans.
