Never mind. Just realized that those shirts were for a ROBERT WILSON...Not Darren Wilson. A Philly Cop who was killed. Does anyone know if he was Black or White ?.....If he was Black...then that figures why they were worn, and no controversy was mentioned.

Completely different officer Wilson's. They were honoring a philly cop who was gunned down last week in a GameStop where he was buying a gift for his son and stumbled into a robbery. Not the officer Wilson from Ferguson.

Seriously????? You think that the it would make a difference if the slain officer was white or black in terms of there being a controversy? WTF

"fight da power dat be" cute. The two songs that are typically referenced are called "Fight the Power". The lyric is fight the power that be. I'll let someone else draw the obvious inference from the butchery of the English language that you have chosen to interject.

Yes I do. In fact there are facts that prove it. Both Officers, and the victims. There are more White people who were shot and killed by police then Black people....and when did you ever see a professional Athlete go out of their way to wear a shirt honoring their deaths, or a showing like the Rams players did with their " Hands up/Don't shoot " demonstration....even though it was a proven FACT that Michael Brown never had his hands up at anytime ?

I remember around the time of the Brown shooting that a White college kid who was NAKED...was shot 5 times by a Black officer......and yet, where was all the national out cry towards him by the Black Caucas of america ? Where was Lebron at honoring that kids death ? Or anything else ? Yes sir....it DOES absolutely make a difference whether the officer was Black or White.

Can this please be in a different post rather than derailing this one? I totally want to rebut this entire silly concept but its a derailment of this thread.

I agree on that. But disagree on your take that it doesn't matter if the officer was White or Black or whatever. But I will let it go, and just keep this topic on Noel only. Thanks.

Of course it matters, our reasoning on why it matters is different. The End. Nerlens Noel has transcended race and is now simply the color of awesome.

Continue on people.

The problem is that if the League doesn't fine players for doing these types of things, regardless of the issue itself, then they open themselves up to criticism.

If I was commissioner I would fine them even in this case and then use discretion as to which charity to send the fine money to.

NBA players should wear NBA regulation clothing at all times without exception. Otherwise you get into the game of making judgement calls as to which times it is justified and which times it isn't.

That seems a bit over the top. The league markets these guys personalities. As fun as a league full of tim duncans would be i'lll pass. Criticism over something like this seems a bit silly

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2399 ... impossible

It's Bleacher Report so take it for what it's worth, however this is a weekly to biweekly article by Grant Hughes who is BR's featured columnist on the rookie rankings, and he has Noel supplanting Wiggins as the top rookie. Not only that, but last week NBA.com's rookie ladder writer mentioned Noel was closing in on Wiggins, we'll see his updated rankings tomorrow. This may finally be gaining traction.

Hey guys, let's keep the conversation in this thread to Noel. If you want to go be a forum troll and argue racism in America (from either perspective) please go do it else where, or better yet, go make a difference in your RL community.

If the above posts continue to promote derailing in this thread I'll go back through and delete every post that makes reference to them.

Foshan, I feel like I knew you were a mod but never have seen you go all moddy.

Bleacher Report and Grantland in the span of a week... not bad. If Nerlens keeps beasting and Wiggins sustains this play of mediocre to dog crap he has been doing for the last 2 weeks or so we might be on to something. The minutes Wiggins has been logging is kinda comical.

Sorry for my part in derailing this, just got outraged but this is a basketball board so will keep it to that.

So I never thought Nerlens actually had a shot at ROY with his limited offense but do people think he actually could win it now? I'm concerned that people will feel his offensive numbers are artificially inflated by the Sixers having limited options post MCW trade so he will get shortchanged come voting time. Either way a 2nd place finish isn't so bad.

Do you guys think when Embiid joins that Noel's defensive impact will go down? Noel won't be guarding centers as much and his steal rates and blocks may go down as a result of guarding PFs. He will be further away from the basket and not be able to contests many shots. He may also be not as comfortable being outside the paint as much.

It doesn't matter what that guy from Bleacher Report writes, or Grantland cause neither of them have a Vote for ROY. I still say " SEXY " always wins out. And Sexy is total points averaged, as well as Style. And Wiggins has that MJ-like style. But even if Noel wins ROY...What difference will it make ?...other then Hinkie will now have a better asking price when he trades his second ROY winner for a " Protected " 1st rounder in the 2018 draft. :banghead:

On the other hand, he'll be able to come around for weakside blocks rather than having to cover dudes in the post.

Also not sure about his steals. He'll be able to play the passing lanes more, get to do that quick swipe move he likes, etc.

Also remember that Embiid will only play ~30 MPG max, that's still potentially 18 MPG for him to be playing the 5.

I really think that if Hinkie gets 1 or 2, he goes Big with Towns or Okafor, and then plays all three of them like 17-20 minutes a game at different positions. Or if he falls to say pick 4, he will package a load to move up.....His pick at 4, the Lakers pick/Miami pick, and whatever players he needs to add. That is what I feel Hinkster will do.
