This is the worst part of the NBA... until Embiid starts getting these calls.

Despite being a U.K. fan who was burned by him, I loved Yogi as a spark offensive player off the bench. He was a great shooter in college and wasn't ridiculously short (I think like 6'0, 6'1). Definitely had a great resume and carried the Hoosiers into relevancy. Much more than what James Blackmon can say this year, with a much better team mind you.

How is this possible? The refs should be fined for this or fired. It's not even funny anymore.

Finally, someone gives this dude a hard look.

yeah... i don't follow the dleague much, but is he better than Randle? why did we go randle over weber?

I think the Sixers liked what Chasson brings from a character standpoint. Extremely intelligent and a great guy. Weber is a bit wild and has had some off-court issues here and there.

In terms of who's a better basketball player, Briante is significantly better than Chasson.

I also think Randle's skill set is something they see as a potential fit with Simmons.

Yeah and more generally I'm unclear how Weber's game translates as a role player. Being a featured guy on a D League team is very different than filling in at spots as the 13th guy on an NBA team. Specialists tend to be much better at that than the jacks of all trades.

Zach Laine done for the year with an ACL. Tough break for him and for Minnesota. Goes to show you need a little luck on your side when trying to build a contender.

I really hate how wrong I was about Jamal Murray.

Wow, Lavine out for the year with ACL tear. That sucks!

Wish him the best, and hope, and expect that he comes back at 100%.

He'll be a solid offensive player, in due time. Just had 18 last night in 21 minutes. He'll just never be passable on the defensive end and thus will always be a flawed player.

Incredible atmosphere in Boston today for Paul Piece's last game. Crowd was chanting for him all game and showing him so much appreciation throughout.

It's unfortunate Washington got suckered into giving Mahinmi a contract. They are one piece away from being a true contender in the East, but have no flexibility with Wall/Beal/Porter/Mahinmi/Gortat on the books. If I'm them I try and unload Gortat for an expiring by the deadline this year and go after someone in the off-season. I think Wall/Beal/Porter will naturally grow into a contending core, but they will still need one more piece.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

They ought to just trade Mahinmi and a future 1st to POR for Ezeli, then use their picks this year to fill in their bench.

Anyone remember when the Magic rebuild was supposed to rival ours? Watching them right now on NBATv and I wanna cut myself. Didn't hit on a single pick...no present and no future

They are in a really awful spot. When we did our preseason reviews, the Orlando one was panned for being way too negative of their team. Instead, we were all way too positive.

I like Elfrid Payton. I think he's a really quality starter.

I also like Aaron Gordon, but I hate the path they've chosen to go down this year in regards to his development. He's NOT a SF, IMO. They've really stunted his development with trying to make him into one.

Yeah, agreed re: Gordon needing to play the 4. What they really need to do at this point is dump Vuc, Ibaka, Fournier I guess, Biyombo (what are they even doing with him?) and bottom out with their young guys if that's what happens. I don't hate Payton, but I think it's unlikely he becomes a top 10 PG at this point.

This is kinda the result of trying to rush out of a rebuild without having a franchise guy in place. They got the 2nd overall pick in 2013, but that was an awful draft and Oladipo was never really a franchise guy. They picked 4th and 12th (well 10 with the Dario trade) in 2014, and although the jury may still be out on those guys, it's pretty safe to say they're not franchise cornerstones. 5th in 2015, and Hezonja looks like he'll be heading back to Europe within 2 years. Payton was probably the best pick they made. And that was it. GG. I feel kind of bad for them tbh.

Oladipo is another guy they botched in developing. They spent a lot of time trying to make him a PG. Which he clearly just wasn't. I would have chosen to keep him over Fournier, though. I really like Victor as a 2-way talent. They also gave up on Harkless too quickly and overvalued Vucevic.

I think this line-up would be pretty damn good in the East:

C - Biyombo
F - Gordon
F - Harkless
G - Oladipo
G - Payton

That's a nice 5th, 6th or 7th seed team that plays high level defense and an exciting athletic brand of ball.

I don't think that lineup is catching a 5 or 6 seed unless Gordon really broke out with the extra playing time tbh. Even if they did everything right with the picks they had, if this was their ceiling, they were F'ed, lol.
