We don't know the context of what lettersnumbers says when he said Tobi has no value.

I'm sure he has no value when we're attempting to use him in a package for a star.

However, if we wanted to move him for spare parts that are more useful, I'm sure we could find a handful of suckers.

IDK. 4 might be high. The only big money (25M+) I would reject out of hand is Westbrook, and that’s solely because I hate his game. Anyone else, I’d be willing to negotiate.

I'd maybe take Westbrook...

I wouldn't take Wiggins. He's a smaller, worse version of the same guy.

I wouldn't take Horford back.

I wouldn't take Love. He's done.

I wouldn't Hayward because I don't think he's that much better and he's such an injury risk.

I probably wouldn't take Klay, though I might regret saying that in a year.

I wouldnt take Kemba if the Celtics were willing to do it due to the implication of his injury outlook.

Talking straight up for guys on 25M plus deals, these are the guys are I wouldn’t trade Tobias for:

Kemba
Vucevic
Westbrook
Wiggins
Horford

Why no Westbrook?

Sure he's got flaws in his game, but he's still a bonafide star player that impacts the game in a major way.

Don't Embiid and Westbrook have beef? I don't thinks he's good enough at this point in his career to deal with that chemistry issue.

I'd trade Tobias for Love. One less year on the contract and Love is older, but he can stand in the corner and actually knock down open threes while not completely derailing the offense once the ball touches his hands. I'm not sure the Cavs would even do that though. Tobias's value is his durability and being a 6'8 warm body with theoretical shooting ability.

Straight up Tobi trade analysis:

Wiggins - HELL NO
Kemba - if Ainge says yes, then I say NO
Vucevic - Reluctant YES assuming I immediately reroute him elsewhere for whatever, otherwise NO
Horford - Reluctant YES assuming I immediately reroute him elsewhere for whatever, otherwise NO
Westbrook - Reluctant YES
Hayward - Reluctant YES
Love - Reluctant YES
Wall - Reluctant YES

They seemed friendly enough last night. Don't think it would be an issue.

If you unpair the contract they gave him from the trade, I didn't hate it (though it was an overpay). The contract is the issue. So when you look at it all together, you basically gave up 2 1sts and a max salary slot to shell out a massive contract to an above average starter...

As for replacing his 20 ppg, other guys would get more shots, and you'd be getting another player back... I don't think it's all that complicated.

Now relax, Shahara.

That's a weak excuses though. Which "player back"? It's Ok to cry and moan about Harris all day like many on here love to do...but the fact is getting someone like Tucker to replace Tobi would weaken this team. Ben already kills the team offensively by refusing to shoot..taking away Tobi would only do further damage imo.

PJ Tucker makes like 8M dollars, so the fact that it's even a debate should tell you something.

And that's why you're on this forum and have no position in an nba front office.

Elton, does the phone they give you even make outgoing calls? Since Morey came to town, the thing me and you have in common is that we're both not GMs.

Oh really??? So the owners just gave EB A FAT NEW CONTRACT for nothing "NBA expert"??

And no you and EB have nothing in common....his time isn't wasted on forums making futile comments on draft picks and trades...he actually DOES IT...he doesn't pretend :D .

Hornets Center Cody Zeller broke his hand and is out 6 weeks. They are down to Bismack Biyombo and 2nd rounders (Carey and Richards) behind him.

I'd be happy to flip them Tony Bradley in exchange for pure cap space. I think they still have some. Nets us a trade exception and we have 3 other centers anyway w/Jo, Dwight, and the Frenchman. We could resign Simba to take the last spot.

Sounds like a team in desperate need of Tobias Harris!

Top destinations for me with Tobias, not arranged according to preference

1.) Bulls - Otto Porter
- they need a PF
- they have bazillion of capspace that will just likely overpay for a Tobi type player this offseason
- porter is a 1 year rental

2.) Detroit - Jerami Grant
- Detroit is thirsty for offense.
- Jerami would be nice once Harden is here
- Jerami Grant looks like a bad contract but less worse than Tobi

3.) Cavs - Love and Garland
- A chance to upgrade Maxey or Milton for Garland
- Sixers absorb an older but a more reliable shooter with Love

4.) Hornets - Rozier Zeller
- Rozier has a potential to be a great fit with our team
- solves their log jam at the PG position
- has shown willingness to get overpaid players

5.) Magic - Aaron Gordon
- Clears their logjam at the PF after handing out extension contract to Isaac
- shifts Tobi to SF with Isaac at PF is workable
- Magic another team with a big cap space and thirsty for scoring

6.) Pacers - Myles Turner
- they almost traded this guy for Hayward
- will use Turner as an asset for a three way

I can go on if you want to

GSW gets Simmons, Harris, Danny Green, Ferguson, Scott, 2021 1st, 2022 swap rights, 2023 1st, and 2027 1st
OKC gets 2027 GSW 2nd and protection removed from 2025 owed PHI 1st
PHI gets Draymond, Steph, and Klay

Massive risk, but knocks a three year window wide open even if Klay doesn't make it back.

Steph/Maxey
Milton/Seth/Joe/(Thompson)/Mathis*
Thybulle/Korkmaz/Anderson
Green/Ilyasova?/Poirier/Reed*

If Philly miss out on Harden and a pissed off Simmons comes down with a FU attitude like Jo had last season
Would any consider a Warriors trade , say
Simmons and Tobias for Klay and either Wiggins or Mr Triple Single

I'm sure you can get a better return for Ben but this trade also gets you out of Tobias.

To OKC:
Harris, Thybulle, Bradley, 2023 top 3 protected 1st round pick, 2022 2nd round pick

To PHI:
Darius Miller, George Hill, Trevor Ariza

Why for OKC? Pick up 2 of the best players/prospects in the trade, as well as picks, in order to absorb Harris money. Not a free agent destination and trying to build with many picks.

Why for PHI? Pay a steep price, but get out of Tobi's contract. Thybulle may be a one trick pony. Hill and Ariza provide immediate help on the court. Provides a Ben to PF move while Shake starts. Bench would be really really good.

Embiid/Howard/Poirier
Simmons/Ariza/Scott
Green/Korkmaz/Ferguson
Shake/Miller/Joe
Curry/Hill/Maxey

If the Trailblazers start to struggle this year, I’m curious: would you trade Ben for McCollum and one of those massive hauls of FRPs and swaps?
