Theres your shooter, theres your defensive big man. Could bite us if Oden doesnt pan out (or thad does) and we give up a high pick but could pay off big as well.
Pipe dream but thats what a fantasy thread is for.

How many wins do you think that squad could get? I think thats a 50 win team

How capable is Lou Dubbs at guarding SG's? How does he play off the ball?

76erfixer I hate to bust your bubble but there is NOOOO way that the Blazers do that deal for just Oden let alone Oden and Fernandez. I think you are either overvalueing are players or undervalueing how much the Blazers like and are counting on Oden to take them to the next level. He is an allstar center when healthy and I think he is from what I am reading and they don't fall off of trees. I would love to steal him from Portland and that's what you would be doing but its not going to happen. Let's put it this way, I don't think Iggy and next years 1st gets it done.

Iggy + lottery protected 1st for Greg Oden? Sign me up. No chance Portland agrees though. Oden is exactly the kind of guy we need to take a chance on.

Exactley! If they pulled that hiest off it would fast forward the rebuilding process by 3 years at least. Put him on the sixers and he stays healthy and now you are talking 50 wins in the east next year! He is still only 25,26? That's the type of raid the sixers need to pull of and get lucky with, like memphis handing over gasol ( how that wasn't investigated and denied I will never know!) Or when david robinson got hurt the spurs finished with the 13th worst record just in the lottery and won the Duncan sweepstakes. There the type of franchise altering things that teams get lucky with that never happen to the sixers. I might travel to hati and see a vodoo priestes to see what she can do. Hahaha!

So was Matt Geiger. So was Chris Webber. So was Elton. But in each case the Sixers ended up with injuries that turned what seemed like a good deal into a flop. This franchise is cursed in that regard, and if they could get Oden, it would only be to see him kill cap space from the IL for the next few seasons. Take my word for it. This is golden.

What do you guys think about Thad, Speights, and Lou for Henry and Thabeet?

I would do thad and Lou, and maybe a future heavily protected 1st... but i'd like to give Speights another year here. Thabeet is still a LONG way from being worth his contract, and i think a Henry/Thad swap is about equal... So maybe some future incentive but I think we'd need to keep Speights. Maybe give them Meeks, since they could use a back up 2g.

PHI: Marcin Gortat and Brandon Rush
IND: Lou Williams and Ryan Anderson
ORL: Thad Young and Jeff Foster

Sixers get a defensive center to split minutes with Hawes and a young defender/shooter to backup on the wing.

Pacers get a young guard who could fill the 1-spot in JOB's system, as well as a young shooting big man, which Jim loves.

Magic get a good young starting 3, and a short-term replacement backup center.

Not sure if Magic would be interested in Thad. As long as D12 is in Orlando I think they'd want a small forward/power forward who can consistently knock down the 3. Also Young/Foster>>>Gortat/Anderson as far as value goes.

I could not stand having Gortat.

realgm wiretap has an article up there that we are ok with trading kapono and the clippers and the kings are interested. Both appear to have enough cap space to take him outright so could we do a salary dump or do you think we can get anything from either team?

Looks like the kings have a bunch of guys they value more then kapono unless we included, then they have daly (no chance) and 2 unwanted contracts in garcia/beno. I guess the best we can do there is a 2nd rounder

The clippers would prob. offer cap space plus a 2nd as well.. they prob. will offer mardy collins who also expires and could be useful as a 3rd pg on this team. Ideally we find a way to get jordon off their hands.

ne one have ne trade ideas here?

Nobody is going to need to add incentive if they offer to absorb Kapono outright. Not only would that bring us a 6.6 million dollar TPE, but it would allow us to go after a big man for the MLE (if there's anyone left).

There is no one left. Dampier likely gets released, so he could be a guy, but he isn't signing with the Sixers on a one year deal when he can go to a contender and we aren't likely to offer him a multi-year deal. Shaq is out there - clearly not coming here. Pretty much no one else who deserves anything beyond $2 million on a one year deal.

How much cap room to the Clippers and Sacramento have - anyone know? Sixers could for example ship Kapono and Green to Sacramento for Greene and Garcia. They get cap relief, we get assets and ability to make other moves. Clippers have no one. At the end, Sixers probably would gladly move Kapono for absolutely nothing if someone can absorb his salary. They might even toss in $3 million toward his salary.

Foshan, I prefer your trade, but I don't know if Memphis would like it. Thabeet was the #2 pick in 09, i would think they would want more assets.

If Kapono is traded for a TPE, I wouldn't sign an MLE player and i would use TPE in a trade.

Geiger was 29. Brand was 29. Webber was 32. Oden is 22. We took a chance on those guys for the present. We would take a chance on Oden for the future.

Beasley was the #2 in 08 and he just went for a TPE didn't he?

I'd follow that up with Green/Kapono to Boston for Rasheed who would promptly retire, clearing our roster up a bit, and giving our guys time to play together.

rather have the expirings for a potential trade then saving our FO some money. Even a TPE from the clippers or kings is worthwild since we have a year to use it.

It's not yet certain Rasheed will retire, which is why the Celtics have yet to move him. When they do, they likely will get better player than Green and Kapono, who will never get on the court for them. They don't need an undersized SG, they certainly do need a wing to back up Allen and Pierce, but it has to be a guy who can step in if needed and defend - Kapono is duplicative of what they already have - shooting. They need an athletic defender. I'm surprised they haven't brought Marquis Daniels back and that they let Tony Allen get away, but I'll be outright shocked if they replace them with Green and Kapono.
