Re: Sixers new HC search thread
Pretty shocking after the initial vibe that he was staying put. Probably the right move for that team though.
Like Mik said, I imagine Lou would prefer to stay there, which leaves MDA for us. Just a matter of how we re-tool this roster to be functional in his system.

2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:
Lowry/Payne/Downtin
Maxey/Melton/Hield
Oubre/Batum/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

Definitely take Rivers over these other guys. Completely different level, has a more flexible philosophy than MDA and doesn't come with the political nonsense with Lue. Also as a bonus already got Harris to play the best ball of his career.

This.
This moves means Lue to LAC and Dan Tony to us.
PhillyPhilly will be heartbroken.

I'd take Rivers over D'Antoni

If we get Doc Rivers, we're only a Chris Paul and Blake Griffin away from Clippers Bingo.

Doc is certainly the best retread even though he isn't quite as entertaining as Pringles.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I'd take Doc. He's not without his flaws (clearly, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten fired), but he is highly respected and has coached a wide variety of stars at a high level.

Julius Erving has never been an NBA coach.

Hahaha you know if we get Rivers, Marc Zummoff will call him Glenn Rivers and not Doc.

Doc Rivers is probably considered a more pedigreed coach than Lue. So he could ask for more.
