He's not awful, he's just unproven. If this pick was in 2014, I'd be all over it. But going back and looking at how BRUTAL some of the drafts have been lately(word of advice... don't go back and look at some of the recent drafts, you'll get depressed) and potentially get a pick 15 or later in it? I'm just not excited about it. Looking ahead at this upcoming draft, I just don't get excited about a pick in the mid to late teens. I know the draft could prove to be much better down the line, but unlikely IMO.

And we all know he'll probably take another foreign player that will be stashed on Europe for 2 years anyway.

Thank God I don't have to root for Anthony Bennett through my homer glasses now.

this deal sucks on a base level (Thad being a lock to walk...almost makes it even).

Sved is garbage and had his confidence wrecked last season and is probably close to going back overseas for the rest of his career.

LMM is a cool dude but isn't long for this team.

and the "big get" requires Miami to mess up in order for it to be valuable IMO (This is a much weaker draft at the moment). I suspect they get off to a hot start on some "WHO NEEDS LEBRON" **** before Wade goes down for a spell and even then Bosh and Deng are good enough to keep them afloat in the East, which with Pacers demise, the Nets ceiling arriving on time and only the Cavs really being the vastly improved team..I imagine that Miami will be a top 5 team in the East easy.....

It's better than nothing but Hinkie shouldn't be praised for it at all.

I admire the courage of PHI fans, maybe you are the only fans who could watch Hinkie manage the team like in a video game.

He's like me in 2k where the only fun part is making trades but the team sucks.

So basically we have to monitor the Heat this year like we did the Pelicans last year and hope Wade's knee blows up on him. So that pick gets in the 11-13 range.

Wade is a major douche, so I don't have a problem with that. It's really the only positive I can take out of this, that Wade's struggles are our gain, and I like watching him struggle to begin with. More so now.

I thought you guys were getting Bazz from us... or GR3.

Shved could turn into a decent backup PG, he can run the pick and roll well. Adelman had him playing SG most of the past two years, with Barea at PG. It was dumb... he needs the ball in his hands. He has some talent, but can't play off the ball.

I'll hope Wade falls apart again, just for you guys ;)

Thanks for Thad :)

Two things. First, this is not a great trade. They didn't get great return, but Thad's value is not that high. We got a mid to late first, I'm okay with it. You all wanted to ride the tank, well tank rides are bumpy and not very much fun. So far Hinkie has drafted well and found good value at his picks. He is clearly committed to building through the draft in a San Antonio model and I think he likes his ability to evaluate future talent. So not a great trade but he didn't get pantsed. It was about what I expected before I heard about the Bennet deal.

Which brings me to my next point. The Bennet deal. Good lord does the Philly media, Cooney specifically, have egg on its face. Reported that sources confirmed Bennet was coming here, which sounded really far fetched to everyone, and immediately Minnesota press and national press came out saying that not only were they not hearing that, but their sources said it wasn't true... GIven time to reconsider, Cooney stuck by his sources and his story. I think it's cool that he stuck by his people, but he needs to get better people.

we don't own your team's pick this year. You don't have to passive aggressively troll anymore.

Lol. That was a funny way to phrase it. Difficult to really know how much Wolves wanted Thaddeus to be honest. Let's be reasonable. What did we get for Turner, Lavoy, and Hawes? second round picks. Plus other GM's have more knowledge of Sam Hinkie and will not be bending over to take his D

When people say "Guys, Thad didn't have great trade value" I get that and I agree, but I didn't think wanting Anthony 'Blubber' Bennett or Shabazz Muhammad were these stud can't-miss prospects.

If the Sixers wanted LaVine? Sure. Wiggins? Definitely. But I don't think asking for Bennett or Shabazz was asking for a lot. I really don't. Sure, they are under control and are younger, but they have shown nothing. Thad can skate at the end of the year, but he's still young and has at least proven to be a good player. I think it evens out to about even value on both sides.

But what do I know, maybe Minny offered Shabazz or Bennett and Hinkie opted for the pick. With the way that guy is obsessed with picks and tanking, it honestly wouldn't surprise me. But an educated guess says Minnesota says Shabazz and Bennett aren't for trade.

If Philly writers weren't so **** stupid and raised everyone's expectations than most would be much more suffice with this return.

Would have loved if GR3 was also involved, but honestly, I'll take it. Much better than only getting two seconds for him at the deadline.

Pretty jealous on the rebuild of the Wolves now.
They now have Dieng, Bennett, , Shabazz, Wiggins and LaVine.

Not every one of them is going to pan out, but that's pretty darn good imo.

And because of Rubio, Martin, Pekovic, they still be fun to watch and win games (not like our team).

I'm a little surprised at the disappointment by some in this trade. I guess the false news reports bumped up ridiculous expectations. No realistic 76er fan thought Thad Young could get mid-1st round pick 2 months ago. Now somehow a mid-1st not enough?

You're right, as was CoreyGallagher, the false news reports goosed expectations. Yes, a mid to late 1st rounder should be OK for Thad.

On the other hand, if you look at the 1st rounder as the compensation for Thad then the Sixers are also taking back 2 bad contracts and essentially getting nothing for them. LMM may have mentoring value, but he's still a bad contract and no one else in the league would have taken him without getting something in return.

I'm not sure that this deal is official yet, but if it's "only" as has been reported, then I can't help but be a bit disappointed. The Wolves must have convinced Hinkie that they were perfectly willing to do without Thad, and no one else must be offering more for him at this time.

Oh well.

I'm stoked and looking forward to be hating on the Heat this upcoming season hahahaha I don't think Miami wins anymore than 50 games which judging by last year will give us the 20/21 pick in the draft at worst which could be a really nice player and Alexey shved could be a Manu Gibnoli type of player down the track. Luc can hang out with Embiid and tweet together  Positive thinking people. god bless
