So if Kawhi doesn’t announce tomorrow, the Lakers won’t have the cap space to sign him.

I just read Memphis waived Avery Bradley. I’m assuming the Sixers will be all over that.

LOL just yesterday I talked to my friend (who is Clips fan) about how West is great and he positioned himself to trade for someone like George at anytime.

WOW. So I saw George trade and missed that Kawhi actually went to Clippers. Good for us, great for the league! Clippers now shoukd be favourites to win it all.

And btw. This league is garbage. They put too much power on players. Kawhi recruiting PG, who’s under contract, should be penalized.

Totally agree, but this is the monster they created. After James and the Heat idiocy, you could just see the floodgates opening.

But on that note, how great is it to see two players who wanted no part of joining the James circus and will now go toe to toe with him the rest of his career? Couldn't be more perfect - Leonard out of the East, and James getting spurned.

The clippers are going to be tough I'm looking at how we could possibly match up with them.. Thankfully we still have Embiid because Ben and Tobi are going to have a hard way with Kahwhi and PG.

According to Woj

"Had Presti been able to strike a deal for George with the Raptors -- and Leonard was willing to stay -- George was believed to be willing to join the Raptors too, sources said. Presti pursued a package of Russell Westbrook with George to the Raptors -- with the NBA's Most Improved Player, forward Pascal Siakam as the centerpiece of a deal -- and Ujiri balked, league sources said. Ujiri had delivered Leonard everything that he wanted in a franchise: Leadership and trust, championship talent and a medical partnership that preserved and prepared his body. What Ujiri couldn't give Leonard was out of his control: Geography, weather, and a chance to return to his Southern California roots."

OKC tried to trade Westbrook AND George to Toronto for a package centered around Pascal Siakam, (Prob 4 or 5 years of firsts/swaps) and then likely Lowry (redundant with Westbrook and on his last year) and either Gasol or Ibaka(both also on last years) for salary matching.

Toronto could have had Kawhi, Paul George, and Russel Westbrook.

This is going to be the best NBA season we’ve seen in a while.

If true I dont know how you decline that trade.

You Just won a Championship, you are playing with house money and you veto a trade that gives your fan base 3 of the top 10- players in the NBA?

Enjoy Siakam and 40- 45 Wins for next 5 years. OMG that GM should be fired on the spot if this is true .

Reading the article, it highly suggests Masai still did not have assurances Kawhi would re-sign with Toronto if the trade was made for Westbrook and George. It also suggests that Toronto was never really in play and was being used as a bargaining chip to extract as many assets from the Clippers as possible.

Same here.

When i first heard it i went back to double check if what i hear was right.

So you really mean Raps preferred Siakam over Kawhi, PG and Westbrook combined?! Seriously?

Well they would have had to include like 65 million in salary to match. And it sounds like the Thunder were just using them to get a better offer from the clippers anyway.
