I want to hear some Westbrook apologies from the podcasters after that game. He was everywhere defensively and was a huge reason they opened a double digit lead at half.

Stop. That dude sucks.

He didn’t suck in this series getting revenge in his former team and he definitely didn’t suck in game 7.

He had a good series for a backup guard very loudly.

Made enough shots that the Clippers completely ignoring him wasn't a complete killer to their offense and allowed him to be a plus with the stuff he does well.

No one cares that much about Westbrook, this is for starters Jokic's team and then there is the entire first lineup and he is the backup guard. But such a situation may suit him, especially since Denver is very team oriented and they don't care that much about individual egos.
It will be ironic if he plays well against his former team (OKC) and the Nuggets eliminate them, as his choke jobs and ego played a part in OKC's former playoff failures.

Young, fast, athletic, and two-way capabilities. Gotta love how Indy is built.

Kerr made a good adjustment playing more Looney over Post.

Remember the Mitchell-Gobert led Jazz team? Ironically, Mitchell and Gobert each ended up on teams that embody the very visions Utah once tried to build around them: Mitchell joined a squad with him being part of a dynamic combo guard backcourt and twin bigs to anchor the defense, while Gobert landed on a wing heavy team with no defensive liabilities and a stretch four to space the floor.

Steph is missing a lot of open looks, yet the Rockets continue to trap him and play zone. The Warriors are clearly prepared to punish that strategy. At some point, Udoka might need to stop his def scheme on Steph and focus on staying home on his teammates.

I like making fun of Gobert but those failures in the playoffs was def more due to their perimeter defenders being swizz cheese

Regarding Westbrook, the advantage of having Jokic is that you can afford to play a non, shooting guard. Westbrook actually fits well with the Nuggets, he plays more like a 3/4 on the floor thanks to his athleticism, transition offense, defense, rebounding, finishing, and IQ for the game. That last part, his basketball IQ, is key. It’s the reason he’s a fit, unlike someone like MCW or Dunn. In the playoffs, you need high IQ players who can adapt and execute on the fly.

Thing’s I’ve noticed in the playoffs: heavy matchup hunting, the need for versatility at the 4/5 (being able to play both big and small) and multiple players who can attack closeouts effectively because of primarily of trapping/zone defense.

At its core, the playoffs are a battle between alphas. While coaches act like maestros, orchestrating which frontcourt duo gives them an edge, whether in size or speed, and adjusting defensive schemes to neutralize the opponent’s star and masking their own team’s weakest link on defense.

And it’s hard to defend when you have an elite alpha scorer with teammates who can space the floor and are very good in attacking close outs, that’s the type of team that can counter teams who run very good zone defense. Celts is pretty much the ideal team for this.

Buddy is due for one good game in a playoff series. Steph just needs to get going and then Butler needs to close.

Good game 7 win for Golden State. Grind it out, defend well, make em make a play. I think they can beat Minnesota. Then again, Edwards is special so we'll see. I do think Houston gave Golden State the best defense they're going to see for the remainder of the postseason. Physically, Minnesota is on another level. I'm damn sure looking forward to the Dray vrs Randle brawl. That'll be as physical as it gets. Bad blood between Dray and Rudy isn't going to subside either. Warriors can't play small against Minnesota. Look for Looney to start the game. Where TF is Johnathan Kuminga? He's a ghost. I like the polish white boy Brandin. I like his confidence and he defends, handles the rock, and rebounds well. If you can't tell, I'm a lo-key Warriors fan when Philly isn't playing. Should be a fun series.

I’d take Cam Thomas over Jalen Green.

So Buddy Hield hit 9 threes, 9 out of 11 threes in game 7. Looks like a useful playoff player after all.

So Buddy Hield hit 0 threes, 0 out of 4 threes for 0 points in game 6. Looks like he's not a useful playoff player after all.

The Rockets vs. Warriors game was a blast. Down the stretch, you could feel Sengun’s desperation, like a fighter sensing the knockout coming but still swinging with everything he’s got. Then Steph buried that three over Jalen Green, Jimmy hit a turnaround fade from the right corner, and Hield sealed it with a three from the left corner. Night night.

Steph Alpha
Jimmy Alpha
Hield empty calorie third option
