He is much better suited on a team with a great distributing point guard and a stud already on the team. He will be a great third option.

i think they may be more inclined to use Thad in a deal because:

1. his contract is easier to move, its a rookie deal
2. we have a glut of 3's behind Iguodala that can all contribute
3. If we move Lou for a big, we then have a hole behind Jrue Holiday

Could we be losing out on a decent player in Thad?, yes. BUT if we move him as-is, i don't think you necessarily miss his production in the role he'd likely play.

with this roster as-is,i think what a kid like Aldrich can bring @ the 5(D, rebounding, blocked shots, garbage points) would mean more towards winning games, than Thad's scoring off the bench.

I think Cole is a big risk.

That's not the case at all. You know exactly what you're getting from Cole. He's probably the safest pick in the draft next to Turner.

Yea, a good college defender that can't jump or score.... I'm psyched.

But Thaddeus brings more then scoring, he brings intensity and he brings a guy OFF the basketball. Holiday is NOT an off-the-ball PG, he played the role remarkably well and made great strides outta UCLA, make no mistake. But he's a floor general, he's a leader and shouldn't be put in any other role.

We need a starter that plays off the ball, and in the Holiday-Turner-Iguodala trio, I just don't see it.

I know what the rationale is and I also get why they would probably do this deal if it were available. I'm just not altogether sold on Aldrich as much more than a potential, mediocre back up in this league even if Philly still needs that. If nothing else, it would be nice to get a big man with some upside, although perhaps that's what they view Hawes as having. Interestingly enough, I thought I remember Philly as being one of the teams that was somewhat interested in Koufos when he drafted by Utah a few years ago, so maybe they wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him too.

Well, I think I now need to add a half-hour to that comedy show and Koufos as a main member of the cast along with Aldrich, Speights, and Nocioni.

After that, perhaps Koufos can at least replace Hip-Hop if he can't actually contribute to the team on the court.

They would have an overload of white centers lol but they all offer different things.

Aldrich would be the post defender and reliable for 25 minutes guy.
Hawes would be the skilled scoring threat off the bench guy.
Smith would provide the high energy guy.
Koufus would be the athletic guy that gets up and down the court.

All four of them do things that the other 3 do not.

If only there was a way to morph these men into one hellacious superbeast... we could have that dominate big man that we crave so badly.

I'd probably take Monroe over Aldrich, but not Davis or Udoh.

If Monroe is there and we DO trade for the 9 or 11 , good lord! I really like the skillset that Monroe has. I dont think we should take Ed Davis , I feel like we really need to fill a banger void at the 5 , Udoh fits that role well too.

Wouldn't it just be easier to take Cousins after we fleece the T Wolves? Mighty Morphin Whites unite!

Turner probably resents Koufus and Mullens for leaving for the NBA way too early and preventing OSU from ever really contending for a title.

The word being spread around is that if he's on the board, Monroe won't go past Detroit at #7.

Once again just throwing it out there but Gordan Hayward. I have a feeling he's a guy Collins likes a lot.

My list for the 9th pick ( screw Memphis, I actually like Koufus)

1. Patterson - Tough minded badass
2. Monroe- If he's still here oooooh sheeeet
3. Henry- shoota
4.Hayward- Just a hunch
5.Davis- POTENSHUL
6.Udoh- Motivated after Monty Williams showed him the fear of god.

I'm not too big on Aldrich...exspecially for Thad but dude is a bull that we need but still meh.

Thad is not going to be moved...after listening to stef and collins comments about him over the past couple of weeks I just don't see it happening. These trades will not happen.

It's always a good thing to take what you hear leading up to a draft with a grain of salt. They wouldn't come out and tell us yeah we want to trade Thad on draft night. No they talk him up trying to put up a good front going into draft night. It's all posturing to get as much as possible from another team.

Becasue no coach or GM has ever pumped up a player in the press and then gone out and traded him. If a deal is on the table for Thad and in the minds of Collins or Stefanski it makes the Sixers a better team they will pull the trigger. It doesn't matter that Collins was just praising Thad in the press. He's not going to bash a guy that might be a valuable trade chip.
