16 FGAs for Maxey. Told ya this is how he should play. But he should do that off the bench.

First possession he passed up a lay-up then turned it over. Doc was angry and telling him to shoot. He got more aggressive after.

He should stop playing like Ben, who has primary option is to pass. That will mess him up later. His primary should be to score then once he gets confident with it, he will make more shots.

He should have taken atleast 15FGA every game the entire preseason.

*he should have scored 20pts in those 16FGA but its a work in progress

Joe can be a very good player. Because he can pull up and make 3s it at a good rate off the PnR. Because of his ability to shoot off the dribble, shot release and height.

He’s also no slouch on defense either. He got good foundations, question is more on how much better can he be.

I like Bassey more than Reed.

Bassey got the tools to be a starting C
Reed cant play C and has a long way to go to be a starting PF

I know we need a PG. But why Shaquille Harrison? Guy can’t shoot and score. He looks more like a practice player for pur young guards than someone who we look to be our 3rd stringer

I’d acquire someone like Pritchard or Flynn to fill that role. Cooper is an option but his much more of a liability. Brunson too. FVV is neither here nor there. I guess I’m all in on the wing that can play on ball rather than the guard spot.

Tatum/Ingram/Brown if only. The trio with Ben would be set and we’d be so much of a handful of a team.

Essentially league wide and what is available is the route to take to max out Embiid.

I still think the Fisher/Kobe/Gasol or Fisher/Kobe/Shaq is the best setup overall. 40+ shots between the two, off ball low usage PG and two wings (one is a switch 3/4) done deal.

Most of these guys knows the secret sauce skills to work at to earn a big paycheck. So you see a lot of the players coming in more advanced than usual. They know their success is largely tied with their ability to shoot and score. The importance of two important ways to create scoring, PnR and stepback.

He can’t shoot. He doesnt project to be a good finisher around the rim. He isnt good moving side to side and only straight line. He doesnt possess PG playmaking. He doesnt possess great length for deflection.

He’s just getting those mid range jumpers because thats naturally the highest rate of open shots because teams like to give up on those.

He’s basically me on NBA2K Myplayer.

But who knows.. maybe he develops into a 90+ rating player eventually. Time will tell. But im not betting any of it and yet im not closing other possibilities for now.

I think he showed glimpses of the complete package in college.

28% assist rate in conference play (when he was thrust into the starting lineup). That's a shade under legit PG level distributing (usually north of 30% is what you want in a lead guard).

Not worried about deflections with him. Tremendous anticipation and instincts and hands: 2.7% steal, 2% block.

Not worried about his shooting longterm, either. He was a 40% three guy (low volume) and 80%+ free throw guy (shot 85% free in games he started). Guys with a shooting profile like that just figure out how to shoot at the NBA level.

I think both Bassey and Reed project to be starters at C and PF respectively. Both rebound well, both protect the rim, both hit well over 70% of their free throws. Reed will have to develop a three point shot, though. That's his only path to the starting spot, especially here. Bassey will start on some other team, down the line.
