I'm just glad that it looks like we've targeting someone and are exploring ways to get up and get him. Instead of just accepting whatever falls into our laps.

I'll be glad when they actually do something like trading into the top 5 picks of the draft. Until then I meet this with skepticism lol.

Man we should do whatever we can to get Perry Jones he fits in perfectly with Jrue, Turner and Thad. he has the length, versatility and range. He has great defensive potential ,size and allstar caliber talent.

I know they're trying to move up. I don't know exactly what they offered, but I have ideas based on who I've been told is available and in their long term plans, and who I know they've been talking to higher in the draft. But, if I had a lot of concrete info that I was allowed to report on, I wouldn't be spilling it on a message board :)

Moving into the top 5 is going to be exceedingly difficult. Generally, you get a top 5 pick in January, February, and March, not June. Might want to temper those expectations.

That's what I was saying. I'll believe it when I see it. I doubt we move up from 15 we probably keep Iggy, Brand and Hawes and Lou walks and we give the starting 2 job to Jodie Meeks again.

The magic number is pick 6 IMO. That's where Drummond is likely to fall.

- Davis is going #1. Robinson is going #2. No question about it.
- MKG is too talented to pass up on with #3.
- Cleveland is in love with Harrison Barnes and would have taken him over Kyrie last year. So he's obviously going #4.

That leaves the Kings with a decision to make. They've already come out saying Drummond would fit seamlessly next to Cousins but that might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Also, that would give them 3 bigs with major red flags and question marks. That's way too much for a single team. At the end of the day, I think Beal is their pick because he's a top 3 talent and they won't want to pass on him.

I don't know how available the Blazers have made the 6th pick, but that's the team we need to be on the phone with.

so based on your other comment, it seems we are trying to move up, but not top 5... i forget who picks 6th.. portland? but that would leave portland, GS, and Toronto as the likely teams we are talking to...

i assume the guys we are interested in that you are hearing about are drummond and....??? who else??

i agree, i think the blazers really want lilliard, but they can get him with their 2nd pick... i dont think hes good value at 6 which is why they might make a good trade partner

I wouldn't say that, I was just saying it's going to be very difficult to get into top 5 and to temper expectations. They're not targeting one pick (although some are more likely to be moved / have more motivated movers)

They will probably do nothing as usual. And then come out and say "We tried hard but wasn't able to move up. We are happy with who we get for the 15th pick." after the draft.

Yeah, that's the team I see the most opening with for the Sixers to make a trade. The only potential problem is New Orleans. They like Lilliard too. And they're sitting there a pick before the Blazers at #10. Do the Blazers reach at 6 to secure the player that they really like and screw the Sixers out of a chance to move up and take Drummond?

I know it's been said that Mark Jackson wants Iguodala but there's no chance that trade gets made if the Warriors can grab Drummond at #7.

So I firmly believe that 6 is the pick that gets it done. It's that or stand pat at 15.

I can't see how the Kings are going to draft Beal after they overpaid Marcus Thornton, who is doing a good job at the offensive end for them.

IMO, 76ers will go for Drummond. They will trade Iggy. But only if Cavs go for Beal, also makes sense since Beal is a top 3 talent like you say and the Cavs don't have a SG. Then Kings go for Barnes because kings needs SF.

I think it's PTB. I also can't see PTB passing up on drummond.

I'll go out on a limb and guarantee the Cavs take Harrison Barnes. Even though Beal may be the better player and a major need for them, they're in love with Barnes and have been for 2 years.

But I agree the Kings are a wild card. Beal would be the best player on the board, but he's not a major need for them. I don't think Drummond is a major need for them either. And him Whiteside and Cousins being around each other would be absolutely horrible for all 3 of them and their coach.

i think new orleans is someone that might have guaranteed rivers they would take him... apparently monty and doc rivers are great friends... maybe they think he can be molded into a PG to play alongside gordon?
