Re: Around the league 2016-2017
This Boogie and Brow combo is going to work because they can both shoot and pass. Now they need to fix the rest of their NBDL (or last year's Sixers) backcourt and they'll be good. Jrue might just be having an off night, but E'Twan Moore has missed like 3 wide open threes.
This team is going to be stupid good though.

3 minutes until future HOF Buddy Hield takes the court for the first time as a King. Pelicans obviously already miss him.

Caldwell-Pope just dropped 33 tonight. Just begging to breakout into a high volume scorer in a new enviroment.

Nurkic was such a steal. AND they gave the Trailblazers a first round pick. Unbelievable. Changes the dynamic of the team.

DeAndre Jordan is such a pleasure to watch which is why the fouling strategy is so ironic.
He goes from must see tv to unwatchable. Often wonder if he'd be better on the And1 Mixtape tour.

Draymond Green has quickly moved from the lovable, high energy underdog to an over enthusiastic Irish Step Dancing jerk who really doesn't know how cheap his play has become nor his place in NBA history. I hope the Clippers knock the Warriors out of the playoffs on a Paul Peirce 3pt shot at the buzzer.

After Paul Pierce returns from a mid-game injury that causes him to be taken off in a wheelchair

For a freaking Plumlee nonetheless. Meanwhile; BC gets Anderson, dead money, and two 2nds (one 3 years from now) for Nerlens Noel. And both of them are entering RFA. It's like crazy town.

Weird time to post that during.
Plumpness (Plumlee, but that's too cool of an autocorrect to delete) has 10,12, and 8 in 18 minutes, against the Nets, but still.

The Rockets took 58 threes tonight. We really need to move the three point line back. Basketball should not be just taking 3s all game. Move the line back.

Re: Around the league 2016-2017
The NBA is soon going to reach a turning point where teams take more 3s than 2s on average. I don't see how an offense run through Cousins and AD can compete with teams like HOU that just rain 3s on them. Watching Cousins trying to stop Ryan Anderson on the perimeter was painful.

Teams can't have their own identity anymore. Every team has to conform to be reliant on 3 point shooting. Something definitely has to be done because it isn't fun to watch,

Agreed.
The modern NBA is boring in comparison to where it was 20 years ago. I like that they eliminated illegal defense, but the game has become stagnant.
Teams like the Warriors, and Rockets are unwatchable, and the rules make it that teams that play like that are the best teams.
If we moved the line back it would normalize things because far fewer players would be able to hit that shot consistently.

Brandon Jennings released by the Knicks.
Worth a flier to see if he can play here??

Well here's the problem: players like Covington have no place, on offense, in a league like that. He's a fringe good three point shooter right now. That would make him an extremely mediocre three point shooter. So what else does he do on offense? Take midrange shots? It would be hard to justify Embiid ever taking a shot from 40 ft out (or however far it would be). You might think that's great, but sometimes players are left open due to good passing and now they'd have to chuck it a mile. It'd only really be a "good" shot for the elite 3 pt shooters.

I'm not saying to make it 40 ft!
I mean that it should be moved back a foot at the most.

I'd pass.
Post Achilles-injury, he's basically just Sergio Rodriquez.

I like the idea of adding Jennings, but he's just not the same player he once was. This is his second year back and you would expect improvement at this point. Them again NY is a toxic environment and he hasn't gotten consistent minutes there.
