I firmly believe that unless Cleveland wins the championship LeBron is coming here. We're gonna need every dollar we can get to sign him and hopefully resign Redick.

We'll also be introducing a lot of new talent next year that I don't even know if we'll have roster space or playing time available for our picks. LeBron, Fultz, Korkmaz, Bolden, and maybe Lessort will all be new additions to the lineup. Then you also know LeBron will attract a few ring chasing vets.

The biggest reason to do this is... In a few years we're gonna be totally capped out. We'll have to max out Ben and we'll probably wanna pay Saric too. We'll basically be limited to signing guys to min contacts. Having extra 1st rounders will be HUGE. Imagine Golden State or Houston having multiple 1st rounders.

Anyway I'm thinking long term, I think a strategy like this could help.

Lebron coming here is more possible today than I would have thought last summer, but it is still an unknown.

My thoughts on the picks are that they should probably be traded. Guys like Bolden, Korkmaz, and Lessort are all non factors. They are pure prospects that may or may not ever play real roles for the Sixers, and they shouldn’t factor in to our decisions at all. Not saying that I don’t like those guys, but they are far away, and may never make it.

It’s nice to be in a position as a fan of wanting to trade two first round picks for a rotation player because we were at such a talent deficit during the process years that we needed to take shots with every draft pick. Now we can use them to pick good role players off of bad teams.

I have no problem trading guys if Lebron comes here. For example Kawhi I'd do Saric plus Covington plus a first.

If he doesn't we wait.

Do we really want two more rookies coming into this team right now? Are we going to find guys that are worth marginalizing TLC, Korkmaz, and Bolden?

We could get better talents, but in terms of actually affecting the team on the floor, I think the assets have more value in what they could get us on the market than what they could give us on the court.

If we sign Lebron we are a contender overnight, and god willing we have good health, we will need more role players that can contribute now.

If the right trade isn’t there, or if the right player slips in the draft then fine, but today I’m preferring to trade them.

My thoughts are we have 2 true "needs". 1 is a wing defender who can catch and shoot to come off the bench for Covington. Obviously is LBJ signs, that need is covered because Covington now becomes that bench guy while LBJ starts.

The other is a better version of Amir. Someone who can be a rim protector and play minutes for Embiid. You can likely get that guy in free agency or trading a package of TLC, Anderson, 2nd round picks, etc.

I think we should re-sign JJ and Ilyasova to cheaper deals over 2 or 3 years.

Holding onto the rights to Pasecniks is a good idea. And bringing over Bolden next year to be the 3rd PF off the bench is also smart. Let him develop with the team and eventually take Ilyasovas minutes.

Mikal Bridges being the deep bench SG/SF behind Fultz/JJ/LBJ/Cov would be a luxury. And he could step in once LBJ and JJ retire or leave.

So I would look to lock in Bridges via trade up or just draft him if he's there. And the other picks can be traded for future picks. That's fine.

After all this time waiting on the Laker pick... it’s going to be 12. Yuck.

The impact players will be gone by then. SGA is likely the BPA, but won’t fit if they sign a big FA. I could see them trading the pick.

I’d only trade the pick if it’s for a Saric situation (trade back a little to pick up another first), or if it’s a package for Kawhi Leonard, health pending.

Why would SGA lose his fit on the Sixers if we bring in a free agent?

^ ^ the next Kawhi level player is probably in this draft and available on a rookie contract around where our selections are at.

Because the FA will want to win now and not wait for a rookie. Plus Fultz and SGA together doesn’t work IMO.

There’s still so many variables.

EDIT: I am assuming the FA is LeBron (because there isn’t really anyone else worth signing who will come) who will want win-now help instead of a rookie. And the fit problem is with Fultz, not LeBron. I worded that poorly. My bad.

Having an eye for talent is far more important than having a higher pick. I'd rather have the 12th pick while having a terrific scouting team and GM at the wheel rather than the 6th pick and a lousy scouting team and incompetent GM (see Sacramento). Every year there are players who go late lottery or lower who are impact players from the start.

I mean, LeBron is the only guy with the lack of patience for young players and the pull to dictate personnel decisions. There's no other free agent we'd sign that can call any shots with who we draft.

And besides, I don't see how SGA would be a bad fit in ANY line-up. He's not dependant on being able to create shots. He's a very good defensive player and assisted three point shooter.

Like I mentioned a few pages back, I think SGA is the perfect blend of headliner and role player. He's just as apt playing defense and catching-and-shooting as he is being on the ball and creating shots.

Yeah, I was just assuming LeBron. Since PG13 isn’t coming here, there’s nobody else worth signing. I worded the original thought poorly, and have edited to clarify.

Higher pick better talent. Ayton, Doncic, MPJ, Bagley, Young, JJJ, Bamba, the Bridges Boys, Sexton, and Carter will all be gone by 12.

It’s more just frustration about having a top 5, 3, 3, unprotected 1st turn into only a 12th pick

The 11th pick in the 2013 draft for the 12th pick in the 2018 draft.

One or both of SGA and Lonnie Walker could be available at #12. Both are 2-way talents that project really well.

Potential J.J. or Amir replacements Gary Trent Jr. and Robert Williams will both be available if we want to go that route.

12 aint' the worst spot to be in, IMO.

I'd rather have SGA than probably 5 names on that list, but I'm a little biased.

And the 11th pick in the 2013 draft was far less valuable than the 12 in this absolutely stacked draft.
