The Saric-Payton trade was a steal because the Sixers got their 2017 first rounder back. One of the first round picks that Collins gave away in the Moultrie and Bynum deals.

Saric might be a better player than Payton.
The 2017 Sixers (lottery) pick might be better than Payton.

The Sixers got both in that deal by trading back 2 spots and drafting the guy they wanted in the first place.

I agree with TK, how can you ignore the fact we got our 2017 first round pick back, by only trading back two freakin' spots? That's a win in itself, along with that fact that Sam was able to essentailly clean the mess of Doug Collins.

You're excited about the Sixers now because of whet Hinkie did. If Hinkie was never here then there is a high liklihood that we don't havevsimmons nor Embiid nor Saric nor the Sacramento pick swap next year not the Lakers pick nor the Sacramento unprotected 2019 pick.

Three years of disgraceful, laughingstock basketball....This team was never winning a damn thing with that fraud running the show....I have hope with BC

So you're excited about the Sixers because we have Saric and Embiid and Simmons right? You know Hinkie got all of them right?

I'm not sure I'm excited about a 7 footer with a bad foot; who hasn't played in 2+ years...who won't play back to back games and who will be on a minutes limit.....I'm not yet excited about Saric....I've never seen him play outside of highlights.

I know Hinkie left BC an unbalanced team....he created a situation where his big men were not going to develop the way they should....and he left BC in a weak position because every team knows he has to trade a big man.

what exactly made him a fraud? You realize he wasn't trying to win these last three seasons right?

If we go allllllllll the way back to the beginning, maybe you'll get it.

If he was still here; we'd have Kendall Marshall and Cannan as our starting backcourt....he was never going to attract free agents, unless he overpaid more than BC had to...We would continue hearing about "optionality"...our young players would continue not developing....etc

Build a statue of Sam and Burn the Straw Man.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

c'mon man. You mean you dont see how bad Hinkie screwed the Sixers? Our big three of Jrue/Evan/Thad would have had Lebron drooling to sign in the summer of 2014. Prob bring another max and then this 2017 pick would be worthless. We would be in the midst of a dynasty, but all because Hinkie tore it down.

amirite?

Can we please not turn this thread into a Hinkie argument. Nothing you guys say will change NY6er fan's mind. I've accepted that. Let him live on his own little island.

Back to SARIC....I was hoping we'd see a confirmation by the 76ers today that he's signed. Any official news? I still get worried like he changes his mind and runs back to Europe lol.

This is false. Hinkie said he was excited about this upcoming free agency period and was going to spend.

Over/under on how many times he gets asked about staying another year to not have to deal with the rookie scale?

But you're excited about the team nonetheless. You're excited about Simmons and you know without Hinkie there is no Simmons.

No more Hinkie talk out of me....unless someone posts something about building statue's for him....

Anyways....

I'm not worried about Saric's defense like some....how many PF's are going to break him down off the dribble? I also think he can play with Simmons to a certain extent...maybe 10 minutes per night.....Between he and Simmons; they should take up just about all the PF minutes

Exactly. Hinkie made that possible for you. You're excited and it's because of what Hinkie has built.

I will not forgive him for wasting 3 years of my basketball life....And if he stayed on; we would continue to be a failure; with or without Simmons.

Can you stop making Ridiculous Hinkie posts? You're forcing me to respond and I want to talk basketball :)
