I do suspect there's some Morant-envy, though. If he's a 6'3" Kobe, he should have went ahead of Zion.

You had fit last year when I suggested he was the better prospect.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

What's up with Kentucky?

Maxey seems to be in the doghouse and struggling.

A likely non-NBA talent Ashton Hagans emerging as the focal point of their team.

This might be the first time that they've become a team to ignore.

I don't care if Tres Tinkle is a 5 year player or not, he's a lotto talent.

Precious Achiuwa and D.J. Jeffries look like NBA players, but where to slot them?

Both look like powerful, athletic defensive PFs with no established spacing ability. Jeffries has a subpar shooting profile and Aciuwa seems to have a garbage shooting profile.

I wonder if either of them will blossom more offensively as the season goes on.

I caught a bit of the Stanford/Kansas game.

Not a great showing for Tyrell Terry, Negro. He looks skinny on TV. Real skinny.

Thoughts on Devon Dotson?

His point of attack defense is phenomenal right now and he's carrying a strong scoring load. Looks like a late first rounder and feels like a gamer.

Obi Toppin looks like an incredible prospect as a PF. Only drawback is that he'll be 22 in March so he is a man among boys in college.

Well, starting next Saturday, we're about to see if Anthony Edwards is the real deal and whether or not he should be the #1 pick. Conference play begins and he has 3 straight ranked opponents (2 on the road).

I haven't kept up with Terry since the beginning. He was hitting all the right numbers early on, but I usually wrap back around at this point in this season and see how they've been looking.

Dotson has always been of interest to me since he draws fouls at an elite rate, has a very good shooting profile, and rips steals.

Killian Hayes is the best PG in this draft and in the conversation of the most complete player. Huge PG at 6'5" 215.

Elite shooting
Elite passing
Elite defense

Scoring about 11 a game in about 24 minutes a game. I wonder how high he'll go.

Elite defense is a stretch, he is good off-ball but has no hope of staying in front of any real athlete at PG

He is also a super mediocre athlete I really do not see him being able to score at the NBA level, he is less dynamic than D-Lo in that regard

Very good play-maker, has size, feels like a good rotation Guard more than a star to me

Frank Ntilikina in 2017: 2.2% steal, 1% block
Killian Hayes in 2020: 2.9% steal, 1.5% block

Looks like an elite defensive prospect, to me. And at 6'5" 215, he actually has positional versatility on defense unlike most PGs.

I'm not 100% sure if he'll be a star, given his mediocre per minute scoring thus far. But anyone with 88% free throw shooting has the potential to be unlocked as a high volume scorer as they are given more chances to shoot off the dribble.

Wasn't Shai unlocked as a scorer at the next level despite being a mediocre athlete with just okay per minute scoring?

Shai wasn't used correctly (due to being a 4 star recruit) until little under halfway through the year. Once it was amply clear that he was the only source of offense creation, he began to blossom. I honestly haven't seen enough of Killian Hayes to grasp if that's the case with him though. Seems to have solid numbers, but does he get to the line enough?

He has Brandon Ingram at Duke vibes on offense. Seems to be completely wack on defense. Interesting prospect to say the least.

This upcoming draft's Thybulle/Clarke. With them both have a solid rookie campaign, I predict Paul Reed will be a reach in the first. Dude looks like a stud on defense with some upside on offense. Not sure he's a fit for us though.

Yeah, Paul Reed is an interesting guy as a defensive PF. Looks like a guy that will need to build three point range in the NBA, though. For as optimistic shooting profile as he has, he's been a non-spacer through three years in college now. Kind of get JaMychal Green vibes from him as both a defensive PF and shooting project.

Quick thought on the bigs at the top of the draft.

Wiseman/Stewart/Carey seem to be getting all the love, but Onyeka Okongwu appears to be the best of the bunch.

- 17 ppg
- 70% free throw shooting
- 2.6% steal, 12.1% block

Hot take, but are we sure he's not Anthony Davis?

If he goes through conference play with not a lot of dip in those numbers, he gotta be the first big off the board.

I do agree that his shot is ugly. I'm not sure if he will ever be in the Jaren Jackson situation where he has a goofy looking shot but it works.

That said, 3.1 STL%, 11.8 BLK%, 10 rpg, 70% at the rim, 40% mid range is pretty impressive.

The longterm prospect to keep an eye on for DePaul is Romeo Weems. He looks like he could develop into something impressive.

If we don't leave this draft without Riller, Powell, Howard, or some other prolific scorer, I'll be pissed.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
