I don't really think much into it. Hopefully he proves more in the playoffs this year. Plenty of guys think the same thing. It's just more of them may not proclaim it.

Okay, fair. But if you really think you are the best do you really need to tell the world?

Are you still bothered by the wrestling/social media match with Towns?

No, not at all. I just wondered if Philly fans think he's the best in the world.
Embiid actually looked pretty petty and immature with all the antics right afterwards.
I personally think you should win something before making that claim. And No, I don't think Towns is anywhere close to the best.

Joel's not even top-10 right now. I think his quote in the past about being the "most dominant" is more applicable. He is arguably one of the most dominant players. But he's too inconsistent and doesn't have a high enough basketball IQ right now to be in the discussion. Embiid kind of wears his heart on his sleeve. He says what he wants to and it comes back to bite him sometimes.

Never said you thought Towns was up there. He's very good, but of course not in the discussion either. Giannis is the best in the world right now.

He isn't having a great year, at least by his standars or what is expected from him. Saying that it's unnecesary and inmature. He has to be smarter on and off the floor.

I agree with this except Giannis being the best, I think kahwhi still wears the crown for now.

That's fair. I'd put Lebron ahead right now.

I would agree with that. If I have to win one game, or a short series, Kawhi is the first guy I want on my team.

They cut the interview short. They did not play the part where he said. If I get a week off between games and I am not expected to put up these types of numbers every night....then yes I'm the best in the world. :)

Embiid is having some fun and boosting himself up.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

If he believes he is the best in the world and it motivates him to prove it then I’m all for it......

Well without Embiid we lost to the same Nets by 20. And lost to Orlando by 15. And lost to Dallas by 18. And lost to Dipo-less Indy by 18. And lost to the Suns as well.

And without Embiid we also beat Brooklyn another time with Ben putting up 34/12/12/5/2 and beat the Lakers handily with Ben putting up 28/10/8/4

Only **** fans try to turn the convo into Embiid vs Simmons when one or the other plays well

Yeah I actually said it was the best game of the season from Joel but haters are just gonna hate and blame everything on Simmons. LOL.

And as for the best bball player case no Joel will never be the best one but he has the best talent that's for sure. It's just not the time when a heavy post center could be the all best anymore. Game has changed so much. And not to even mention Joel's healthy issue.

Agree, maybe top 10.

That was classic Embiid proclaiming himself the best player in the world and then playing a C- level game on national tv. I love JoJo but he needs to grow up a little bit.

I predicted this as such. He has a long ways to go. He can do alot of things on the court but he hasnt perfected anything. He wanted all the smoke with that comment and he's gonna get it. The trolls can @Joel for the rest of the season. I won't be vouching for him until I see some form of consistency

Embiid has always been overrated on offense IMO. He lacks major refinement, the problem is that he needed to be a high volume scorer from the start, let's remember he never scored 20 points in a game in college. He can do many things on offense but many of them lack refinement.

He was raw when he came, and relied a lot on drawing cheap fouls when he came.

He is not as raw now, but he lacks guidance on what kind of shots he wants to take and the team lacks structure and purpose on offense.

His achilles heal right now is big defenders, that are disciplined and have good help defense. Unfortunately, or purposefully, teams like the Raptors or the Bucks are built like that. So he and the team need to find a way to attack them in an efficient way if they want to get anywhere.

Didn't establish himself early with an invisible 1st quarter. He was getting doubled off the catch and I thought he did a nice job in the 2nd to combat their swarms by drawing contact and getting to the line.

Unfortunately, he took his foot off the gas after halftime and came out flat to start the 3rd. We need him to impose on every possession against an elite team like Milwaukee, especially with Simmons being sidelined.
